I was hiding behind a boulder, a shot from no thank went through the rock and destroyed me how is this possible,

You can't shoot through boulders it either a bug/glitch or someone was undetected behind you.

True, or you had a lag and while your client was displaying you behind the boulder, you were, in fact , in the open.

I found a cheat on the internet that allows me to shoot one player a month through the rock / building / any solid object.

Depends on the boulder. Some tanks hide behind boulders when I'm battling them but there might be a small crack or a chunk missing out of the boulder giving me a shot at just a tiny part of the tank. If I can get a lucky shot through then the tank could be destroyed in theory. If it's a huge boulder that can easily cover your tank then it's probably a glitch but I'm usually able to find some millimetre of a tank sticking out from behind a boulder in most cases.

I was once shot through a block of flats while my ping was 30... Glitch?

Destructible cover cannot be shot through though, it treats all shots like HE, even paper thin marquees on fort despair can't be shot through (but that isn't the point.) I think that after you die, you can see a tracer of the last shot. I think this tracer mispositions itself making it look like you got shot through solid cover
