Hello Everyone,

i have aver recently gained the Tiger 2 and have upgraded all bar the last gun/barrel.  I have also bought the repair toolbox, rammer and ventilation, so almost at full spec.  However, I'm struggling to gain any positive results.  I find that against a level 8 American or Russian, or indeed a level 9, I make no or little impact.  All I seem good for is shooting tracks as a means of getting a result.  It appears that I'm slower, have thinner armour and a gun which struggles to cause any damage.  I appreciate the gun might improve when I've finished grinding to gain the necessary xp for the new barrel.

If anyone has any thoughts or tips I'd be grateful to hear them as I enjoyed the Tiger 1 but am getting very frustrated with my Tiger 2.

thank you for your assistance in advance!

A (becoming frustrated) Tanker!

- angle your armor

- shoot at weak spots

- move your turret left, right, up, down between shots

- seek cover

- change repair toolbox for coated optics

- take 2 repair kits with you (repair kit and multipurpose kit) and adrenaline for those sticky situations

- take some "gold" rounds with you for higher tier front armor

Thanks Pouchy,

Sounds like good advice, can you just explain the benefits of coated optics please?

the logic behind it is "you can't shoot what you can't see".

IMO, coated optics is a must on ALL tanks (less TDs perhaps).

Since you should take 2 repair kits with you - repair toolbox is a bit redundant

I agree to what Pouchy says, just to make it a bit clearer perhaps:

Try googling for sites that tell you per tank where their weak spots are, this will help you on doing more damage to your enemy. Try to hit the ammo positions to blow them up even quicker or the fuel tanks to set them on fire.

Angling is also important because shots will bounce off. Never just stand still, try to keep moving, this will force the enemy to pick different spots to shoot on every time thus increasing the chance to get bounces.

When you stare your enemy in the face with your turret the fronts are flat and a good target. When move left or right in between shots the bullets come in an angle and maybe they get bounced.

Side armor of tiger 2 is weak - so don't angle and always move your front towards the enemy - most shots will be deflected.

Multiple enemies in front of your tiger 2 is ok - enemies, shooting at you from multiple directions is very bad for kitty, retreat!

It'll certainly improve once you up-gun.

Armour seemed ok to me - i guess your opponents are aiming at the weakspots.

As with all higher tier German tanks, they have a relatively higher profile with a large turret, which leaves you a bigger target, and abit harder to use cover.

Maybe try to get more into side shots positions on enemies.

Or at least increase some frontal range from your target - yes your shots may still bounce (no change!) but so might more of theirs. The longer you stay alive, you increase your chance a teammate could get your target in a crossfire.

Or just win the lottery, and spunk it on Gold shells...

Try to keep your front glacis(lover plate of armour) hidden behind terrain. This is a significant weak spot on almost all german tanks.

Couldn't you use HE? That might do a little damage....Although, Just try and aim for the weak spots...or just snipe the enemy lines

My advice. Grind as fast as possible to E75, sell and forget.

I find Tiger II works better when you stick with the herd. It's not a tank for striking out on your own, boldly charging across the battle field. Nope, that just gets you killed. It supports well, and it kinda needs support.

After reading all this...... I feel like selling my tiger 1 so as to avoid grinding........ Should I?
What should I buy with the credits if you think I should sell my tiger 1?

Just waiting for the British tanks.

First thing you do when you start with a Tiger II is get its Top Gun ASAP!
Nothing else matters but the biggest gun you can get on that thing.

I scored pretty good with my Tiger II once i had that gun.

I could pen most tier 8's and tier 9's to 10's are still hard, but if you know the tanks your enemies roll in, its a lot easier to turn them into a smoking pile of rust.

I'm a very patient player when i roll in a heavy.

I wait for the moment i know i can pen my target, and then i shoot.

So true Iskra.
But a German heavy can be very annoying to drive, when you don't have the top gun.

This is what i advice for the German heavy lines to research first:

-Top Gun (Lets be honest, your tank sucks without it)

-Turret (More protection means the enemy needs more shots to kill you. The time you might need to kill him first)

-Engine (More power means more speed/acceleration. Trust me, the giddy moments of having your biggest gun outweighs the ones when your tank actually started moving. But the engine and the tracks are less important.)

-Tracks (You may chose whether you upgrade the engine or tracks first, AFTER your gun and turret, as they are equal in importance.)

As for equipment, use what you think you play better with.

More my Tiger II i had:

-Ventilation
-Gunrammer

-Improved aiming

In my experience, the faster you can shoot, the less chance your enemy has to cause more damage then you do.

And last, but definitely not least, learn the strong AND weaknesses of ALL the tanks you may face on the battlefield. All of them if you can remember them.

It will help you when fighting tough opponents.

Like when you face a T95.

First step is to figure out when the rest of your enemies are doing. One look at the minimap and you know. Remember their positions every time you check the minimap.

When you know where they are and how they are moving, you know how you should play to counter them.

This will determine whether you run and fight something else, or attack.

First, if you have the time, shoot its tracks OFF at least twice.
It'll take them time to repair them.

Other then the tracks, don't waste ANY ammo on it when it has its front to you. It'll hurt REALLY bad, and you cant even tickle him.

You just have to make sure you shoot its sides or rear.

Just take your time.

The Tigers (both of them) work best as long-range snipers rather than close range brawlers.  Let the Russian and US heavies go in close, you're better off at a distance.

I have the Tiger 2 myself best tactic is shoot the enemy and then wiggle your front for your life untill you can shoot again.

I just bought a Tiger II. My crew is not 100%. My problem that Tiger II is very very slow. Will it get faster after my crew gwt fully trained?
What do you think optimal equipment for Tiger II?

The easy day was yesterday.
