Hi all I've been playing this a while now, although admittedly on my sons as he ran up a £800 iTunes Bill, which thankfully I managed to reclaim!! which means he now has much better tanks than me. Any way I'm now at a cross roads with my own Panther 2 or tiger 2? Any thoughts I like the versatility of the Panther but it's so frustrating watching your rounds ping off the Russian IS 3's etc!! ( I'll research those next) trying to manoeuvre to the rear of those all the time is making me think shall I sacrifice speed for brute force although looking at the gun I'm not sure if it is as good! Anyone out there with either who could shed some light. Thanks,

That is completely up to you  - they are different classes and have different play style.

It is ultimately your choice on which ever you get, I reccomend the tiger though simply because of the tanks that come after it.

I have met you out there. You know you want the Tiger. It is the tank-of-tanks.

Tiger if you don't want to loose your nerves , at least with heavy tank you can compensate for bad team.

If you want medium tanks that are actually competetive look at Russian tank tree.

I second the fact that if you want mediums go for Russian, they wipe the floor with other mediums, though Americans come a close second. I've not actually driven the Panther but they don't seem to be very effective opponents, or maybe they are just quite difficult to drive. As for the Tiger, I hated it. Go for the Americans, T29 and later are awesome, or go for Russians as the run of kv1, kv1-s, IS then IS-3 is unbeatable. Good luck!

wait before u make a bad decision i have a panther 2 and i kill tiger 2s all the time with experience the tank does not matter panther 2 if fast and can out run the turret of a tiger 2  which is what i do all the time

Panther as you can jump to both tiger2 and panther2 in the tech tree.

I find the panther to be very effective, now, when used in a platoon with a IS russian heavy. I used to hate it and found it lacking on everything. But after last nights extreme run , i found a place for it on the game. With rammer, optics and spall liner, im having a ball in this tank. It fires soooo fast, decent speed and you can bounce shots of armor if you angle right. But, dont get shot, armor is weak. If you have a heavy nearby, most people ignore you, too little damage, and worry about the heavy. I pump out on average over 20 shots a game, and outdid the heavy several times with damage. Playing this solo isnt as much joy though, you sorta need help to be able to pump out the dpm. Snipe and move, and , i crushed a fury and a Cromwell with ramming. The panther is heavy and good for ramming other mediums.

i will go the panther route now, but the tiger 2 is solid , so go for that. Panther takes alot of getting used to and you sacrifice alot , to run it proper. If you want a challenge, choose the panther line.

I have the Panther II and the E100.

From my experience i would say Tiger line all the way.

Tiger is easier to play than Panther, so do Tiger first, then Panther later.

Tiger 1 is awesome when played right, but a difficult tank to play right. Panther is very different. I have both and will be keeping both. But to go first i would do tiger, leads to e75 wich is a beast!

In general, if some tank is fun and other is boring there is good chance to have it reverted on next tier!

 

After I have seen Thunderties movie on hulldown Centurion gameplay I took my Panther II and made best game ever. I still have half way to go with Tiger II but so far Panther II gave me more fun. From he community opinions heavy E75 is awesome but then I heard opinions that E100 is worse than predecessor.

 

I did not get it clearly from your question - do you look for Tier VII or VIII advice? If VII, I recommend to buy both and level at same time because some of the modules overlap - I got two major upgrades to Tiger I within one hour thanks to that (gun and engine) and it rapidly turned to real beast!

 

Fun wise for me: Tiger I (charging is awesome) over Panther I, Panther II (fast, agile, deadly, hulldown) over Tiger II.

I am always keeping all tanks VI+, no time to grind money to buy them back.

You can get the Panther and then get Tiger II, have a bit of both

I'm currently grinding the Tiger I. I found it hard to fight till the gun is upgraded and it is not well armoured. It is getting better and I think it will be a keeper. I'm also playing the Vk 30.02 M to get to the Panther. I like the greater mobility compared to the Tiger, so maybe the Panther will suit me better. Tiger II's look very effective in battle. I often latch on to one if I have a weaker tank and run interference and/or hide behind! As others have said, it leads to the E75 which is apparently awesome when it is tooled up. Have fun!
