I am mapping places for tanks that need to protect their hull as it is weak and can be penned easily (or for those with LFP weak points) as there have been many redundant threads and I want to 'update' it as I need to find places for my new T110E3 to hide that LFP weakspot

So off I went on scouting in Copperfield in My BT-7 Art to search the place (cant save as images so look at the links)

The rock provides solid protection from frontal enemy fire, but you will find it difficult to aim the gun lower and if you reverse, depending on tank, you risk the chance of leaving your hull open to fire. Also when in this position watch the left side if things over there start to fall apart and also to prepare for flanking meds trying to go through the sides.

The radar tower will not be able to cover your hull fully, but this place can be right if you have a LFP weakspot which makes it partially, if not fully covered and you can start sniping at the other side. Just watch that the turret is facing enemy tanks as the sides can be penned from extreme left and right of the other side so watch out. Also you will not be able to snipe at the factory to prevent base capture.

This point might be troublesome for those who have gun depression issues but might be able to hit Enemy LFPs  but avoid going too far as it might expose the hull/sides. Also tanks on the left side can shoot at you at certain places, so make note of that

This is a tricky place, but it offers protection for the hull (if you're content with the tracks being left out) and it can be easy to go to sides and base and so is quite beneficial in terms of location. But the shooting place is situational and you are vulnerable to fire from both sides

I'll put other maps next

uhm... 90% of all terrain is hull down from some perspective.

avoid going town on the desert maps and youre good.

Maybe, but POI could be listed?

well, yes, but placed that can be classed as good for hull down are rare these days. before, on the good old maps with static engagements, there were lots of great spots you could always use. Most spots come with the condition "if the reds are exactly at spot X".

1. Your side and top plate will be penned from hill.

2. Only works in low tiers (small tanks) and you will be penned from hill.

3. Not bad but taking the road between the building and rock (to your left) gives more cover imho. Or goin more to the right to the last house is also an option to harass advancing reds.

4. Don't go there. Ever.

On this map if you want to proctect you front, stay on hill and push enemy base. If they flank, stay on hill.

there are a couple of craters in the middle of himmelsdorf that I sometimes see T29 drivers rush for and park themselves in :D

It's quite shallow though

Just take notice that the sides and backs are quite prone to fire

How about using map inspector ?

There is a "tech map" view where you can see depth of things, and there is spotting view with which you can check if you are too deep to see over a ridge, or not.

Read my guides there

"I want the game to be just how it was launched, no MM limitations for platoons, some unbalanced match once in a while, and friendly fire should come back as well. The only thing they should remove is statistics." -phony1907, 08 July 2016, 05:45pm -

I want just that, and replay files.

Hull is a pretty awful place for anyone or anything.

Have you ever been there? It smells like fish.

I was having a quiet beer after work today and a fish truck hulled down by the place and stank it up with marine fragances.

I think they make yoghurt as well, now. At least, I heard something about Hull and culture. Can't be anything else.

Every time I've been to Hull I feel down, it's why I don't bother any more.
