(No, this is nothing to do with Gameplay, but it's the most active section of the forum. Mods will probably move it later).

I have a proposal to make. Hear me out guys. :)

The aftermath of recent updates

Following the recent updates, there are a lot of people across all the Blitz servers, not just ours on EU, that are vowing to never spend any money on WG products again, at least until some of the underlying issues of the new updates are resolved. That's fine. It's your money and your right to choose who gets your money.

Your nation's troops

There are dozens of brilliant charities out there in the world which help veterans and wounded soldiers.

Your nation's soldiers protect you from all kinds of threats, every single day. Not only those actively fighting in wars abroad but also those defending your homeland. Not all soldiers are fighters - some are humanitarian forces that help people in dangerous places like disaster zones. You don't always read about the heroics of your troops in the newspaper.

A wounded soldier's life is changed forever. They may find it difficult to find employment. They may suffer financial hardship. They may experience the negative mental effects of warfare such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). And so on.

My proposal is this:

Give what money you would have normally but currently refuse to give to WG to your nation's charities that help your veterans and wounded soldiers.

Why do this? Not only are you maintaining your stance that you'll never spend a penny on WG again, but as a result you'll be doing something good instead by helping your nation's heroes.

Together as a community, we can turn this negativity into something good and help people who really need our help.

Please share links to charities in your country that help your nation's troops.

And let people know in this thread that you donated something.

And lead your clan members, friends and so on to this thread so they too can find a charity to contribute to,

I'll get the ball rolling. Earlier I donated £30 to Help For Heroes.

What are YOU donating?

I'm afraid I don't know the links to every single nation's charities (obviously). So please share any links to military charities for your nation in this thread for others. And please do ensure they are legitimate charities.

Come on guys, turn your anger towards WG into a positive charitable contribution towards real, actual soldiers.

Big respect to everybody who makes a donation, no matter how small. Everything helps your heroes.

:honoring:

Everyone's right to express their opinions. My right to express mine, though: for your right to be wrong, i am ready to die! Not defending the bad ones, but i wish you'd call them when you most need'em. They might not be around, cos you fak'em...living in Switzerland, are you?

As an aside on the UK charities - Help For Heroes is overfunded, as its remit is so restricted. SSAFA, the Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmens' Families Association, is the oldest cross-service organisation around. I know a few people whose fathers were killed in action and whose families received direct help.
As you may or may not know, I'm into amdram (and we have 45% nabs who know everything, too) and the group of which I'm chair runs the last night of our annual summer tour as a SSAFA benefit.
(Gratuitous plug) This year, we're doing four Canterbury Tales, which are filthy enough to make a Vanguard blush. Full details at www.tauntonthespians.org.uk

I dl relate to the idea behind the post, but may I suggest that if supporting military service, like in the case of pacifism and voluntary objection, seems wrong, direct your funds to any good intention fund raiser. I mean sure, veterans deserve to be treated if they got issues after service, but as a supporter of peace and unity I can also relate to the thought of not wanting to support war in any of its forms. Needless to say I dont find either to be a bad way of thinking.

Why do you even post on here? All you do is criticise others and make snidey comments......have you got nothing better to do with life? Why don't you go and do something productive instead....go on, live a little and maybe it will stop you behaving like a moron.

Thank you to everyone showing support for this proposal, either here, in in-game PMs and on Discord. It's nice to see something positive coming out of the recent negativity. :great:

Nice thread boss.I think puru will share some of his soul tea with you.Put 2 tea spoons of earl grey, let it steep in cold water for half a minute.Add boiling water until the cup is full.Wait for 2 more minutes.Open up a bottle of duvel and escort the color.Yes...YES.My turn, okay?*

Will donate some of my monthly budget for the game, military can certainly make a better use out of it.Other than that this thread needs cinnamon and dakimakuras.Cosmic is like a tsundere.

*Thanks to VG and AFK for introducing me to this delicacy.

Gentleman, Gentleman

Please remember the altruistic reason why this thread was originally posted.

We all now have a clear impression of the type of person Mr Dash is. His actions

show himself and his clan in a very bad light.

shame on you Sir

I'm Dutch we don't have an active military, we only have "soldiers" shouting "pang" and "boom" to each other cause we're to cheap to buy bullits. These so called soldiers still get payed from my taxes though...

On a serious note, every soldier knows the risk of this occupation when they apply to the army... Most of them do not join the army in the idealistic "I defend my country" thought, they simply join the army for the money/adventure. I do some charity, but I rather give to the real unfortunate or sick people, who didn't get into a nasty situation knowing at forehand that could happen.

I'm not Dutch, but I've worked very closely with the Dutch military over a long period....they've moved on since the days of inactivity at Srebenica. Have a little pride in them, they are a fine bunch of guys and girls who do a job the likes of you could and would never do. At least be thankful and grateful for that. Whether you like the military or not, they do a horrible job so that the likes of you can sit freely at home, playing stupid video games, generally loafing around unfairly criticising them.

Well, to be fair, Finns do it aswell, and we do have one of the best trained military as for the size of it is almost every male in the population. And they do go "bang" "burstfire"

It actually makes a lot of sense compared to put people firing even blanks at each other when in training. Its just as smart as not putting 2 beginner swordsmen fight eachother with sharp ones as a training. Meaning its very smart NOT use real bullets.
