I get the idea for this thread from another gaming forum where their version now runs to 100s of pages. It's simple really, if you have a quick question just post it here - rather than start a new thread - and a whole bunch of knowledgeable and helpful people will likely pop up with the answer.   Also saves the lazy among us from having to search the whole forum.   Hopefully it will get pinned or will pin itself by frequent use.

I will get the ball rolling: which is the better gun for the T150 - the 85 mm S-31 or the 107 mm ZiS-6?

107mm, always get two points from the three point armor-damage-speed triangle.

I like occasionally fighting in the Matilda fitted with the OQF 3" derp gun, rather than the 2-pdr.  Whilst the HEAT shells are relatively expensive, I have had fun seeing other tanks suddenly reversing away from you in surprise when you pen them for the first time. Most people it seems just expect you to show up with the efficient pop gun.

Are there any other tank / derp gun combos, ideally up to Tier-5, that are similarly overlooked?

Could you explain that please, Pururut?

I dunno, but I just tried out the Ha Go with stock turret and 57 mm gun (after someone recommended that on another thread) and got a 6 kill Mastery in my first battle.   Which we lost sadly because I needlessly sacrificed too many health points on kill 6, fearing someone else would steal it.   But that is not the point.   It's a counter-intuitive combo.

107mm is available in t-150 and kv-3/4 all the way until st-i.Instead of fluctuating between 85-107-122mm guns, it is best to pick the most reliable one and go with it all the way for it saves the time required to adapt to new guns. With 107mm you can learn a play style that will allow you to play efficiently all the way until ST-I.The only thing that will differ between the tanks is a little decrease in mobility for even more accurate 107mm guns. For the frosting on top, you also get additional armoring.

85mm can also serve well but for the sake of long term investment and the nature of heavy tanks, it is better to pick the 107mm starting from T-150.

The AT-1 with 76mm howitzer and Valentine AT with 3.7 inch howitzer come to mind.  Closest things to artillery in Blitz.  If you can shoot someone in the side or rear with HE and pen, the damage inflicted will surprise the hell out of the victim who won't expect a Tier 2 or 3 tank to do so much damage.

Thanks.   That is helpful.   So far, me no like t150 but I haven't unlocked everything yet.

Just checked, and I see although I've fought in the AT-1, I've never researched the howitzer.  Will give it a try, thanks!

I have tried the Valentine AT with the 3.7".  What I can remember, for long range shots, is the shell was slow and distinctly arched towards the target.  More a gun for getting up close and personal, eh?

Yes, close range mostly.  Although you can pull off long range hits provided that the target is completely stationary, not moving or jinking at all.

What is funny is that with very slow arcing shells fired at long range, you can sometimes hit a tank that is just below the top of a dune or berm as the shell plunges down at an angle onto the target, like a naval shell.  Cue anguished cries of "Hacker!  I was behind cover and u killed me!  Reported!" Sweet on the rare occasions you get the opportunity and can pull it off.

OK, why, when you buy a Luchs but don't want to spend any precious free XP on upgrading the execrable stock engine and gun, trusting to get a juicy *5 XP win with some help from your team mates, do said team mates prove to be utter crap in battle after battle such that you have still scratched only one measly draw out of the first 8 attempts?   Hmmm?

Ok quick question: i have played over 7000 battles now, and i notice my ipad screen doesnt feel smooth anymore at the points where i put my thumbs. When i clean the screen, the moist doesn't stay on these parts either, so you get two dry circles. It affects driving and the fire button both, hence the drop in winrate.. :playing:

any tips from fellow tankers with far more battles?

Should have used a screen protector that can be removed and replaced.

You can customise the positioning of the buttons on your iPad screen.  Go Settings, then Controls, then Touch Controls Editor (Customise).  Maybe you can move the driving and fire button sufficiently to avoid the damaged part of the screen?

Turn on Auto rotate and turn it upside down and it will be good for another 7000 games.
