Hi,

I just bought a Comet so I'm now in 6/7/8 battles.

Are they normally so full of heavies, especially IS models, or is this an effect of the Warhammer promotion?

Thanks

DH

Nope, IS plague is pretty much normal :)

They are strong, and while tier VII meds are good, tier VIII are less so meaning tier VIII can seem like a heavy/TD only zone at times.

No. First drive the KV1S. Dont buy an IS untill you have at least 50% Winrate on the KV1S. Then buy an IS. Drive the IS. Dont buy an IS3 untill you have at least 50% WR. Then drive the IS3. Then DONT buy an IS8 but grind min. 3 other lines to Tier 8. When you have 4 tanks on Tier 8 with at least 50% WR, then buy a Tier 9 Tank. It will save you and your team mates a lot of frustration...

Comet is a dpm monster dash in shoot run away and keep on repeating till the heavy is dead. Is is a good tank but the 122 loads slow and isn’t the most accurate a well driven comet should be able to take on and kill one. If you really must do the russki heavies as super says don’t go to Is until your over 50 wr in the kv1 s

All the higher tiers are usually full of Heavys. They are pretty easy to drive, and you get away with more mistakes because they have armour. Tier VIII especially gets a lot of Premium Heavy tank drivers, because that's where they grind their credits.

Aim for the very top plate on the turret on the is3. Its a well known weak spot. Also target front drive wheels as well - perm-track'em for your teammates to hit them. Your Comet has the accuracy and dpm to do that.

Cheers chaps.

I know I need to put in more time with the Comet. I just seemed to end up in match after match getting stuffed by heavies.

On a losing run at the mo, so need a change I think...

Thanks

Well, it takes time that's all. And it can be frustrating. I feel the same frustration at tier X facing team after team of Heavy tanks.

The problem is, if you start driving Heavy tanks yourself because you can't take it anymore, you can be sure you'll end up as  a lone bottom tier Heavy in a team of all Lights and Mediums against teams of all Heavys and high caliber TDs game after game...

Life is hard. :)

Stick at it, and it will click. Don't swap between tanks with different play styles too much. Never go where you know the heavies are going. Go to the hilly places and use the terrain. Get behind them, aim at their tracks. And, above all, don't think that the next tank up the tree is "better". It won't be if your own skills aren't up to it.

A big thumbs up for this.  I am just getting up to tier 7, T-43 and a gift VK45.03.  Your advice sounds very solid to me and I will embrace it.

Honestly, I have never believed that a higher tier tank was a "better" tank.  For all of the flaws of this game and WG, they have pretty much insured that Player Skill is still the most important factor.
