it was full yolo I need to say, but bottom line is this :

2 millions.

That is over 33K per game with the current free premium , but expenses were full kit, awful damage and dead most every game.

on the other hand, I start to feel the alpha numbers sold by WG are off. It doesn’t add up.

Yeah, I made another half million with the free premium. I run the full combat setup, and invariably blow all three consumables every game, still laugh all the way to the bank. I'm sure the thing could earn even more running on the cheap. Stuck at 56% it seems, but I'm having really good games win or lose. I mean if you do 2K damage and 2 kills and end up top of your team and you still lose, there's not a lot else to be done except being Unicorn?

Also what numbers are off? The HEP alpha, or all of them?

Still about credits

33k was for 1000 damage games which was pretty low damage but was the point of my platoon.

i had a couple of good but not amazing games, at 2000 damage and really the income is cray zee...

80K after all expenses for no abnormal reason. No mission nothing .

just 80K in a normal game. Wow.

About the ammo,

it is mostly the HEAT. I don’t use it often, really once in a few games. but I don’t even remember reaching 200. That is very far from 200+-25%. Every time I notice it resemble  more like half of my HE. I would rather splash HE than use  heat that still may fail, and that will do half of the damage on a good day, for a large amount of credits.

I can’t tell for the HE, it seems that I sometimes do 240  which is below the ( alpha - RNG ) but I need to keep track of every shot.

Otherwise I have talked about my frustration of too many failed pen in third person view. Maybe I need to aim better ?

Same for AP. 240 ? That would mean some AP should be near the 300. I haven’t check each shot as I shoot so little AP.

LEKPZ M41 90 Penetration Test

By:

So my friend Minitelrose and I were talking about the penetraton and alpha values on the Black Dog last night, and I promised to do some testing.

Here is the initial run, Black Dog shooting at IS-3 Defender:

AP: Side shots below turret, between first and second return wheel, 50 m

So I feel like I am getting pretty close to the stated alpha damage numbers with this admittedly small sample.

The HEP rounds will not go through the tracks, drive wheels, or even the small return wheels so far, and they did not take the track off consistently. I am not running the calibrated shells, so this is with standard penetration.

Next target is the IS-5.

So tentative conclusions?

I don’t get the feeling the numbers are off, it’s just it’s not easy getting a clean hit. HEAT ot HEP hitting a drive wheel can do 0 damage, and sometimes not even break the track, but when you hit flat armour, it works like it’s supposed to.

Amazing post by Irma. Thanks so much.

i guess I’m cursed.

HEAT

I rarely shoot heat, and when I do, I only counted twice above the alpha, the rest was below or failed entirely. Which is a good reason to shoot even less heat. I mostly use it when sniping against superheavies, I can’t change my angle unless driving around entire map, and I need penetration over a long distance. The issue is spray and pray and it falls where it can.

AP

its the most reliable, but it’s not fun. I think I underused AP when I should use it.

HEP

this is where it shines, but I still have bad surprises in third person. I have toned up with a T49 and it’s really fun, even more than alone.

We find anyone that is slightly isolated, I yolo pass first, they want me and turn, and they receive the T49 in their sides or back.

If i can shoot right before or after the T49  or both and they are seriously crippled or dead. We can rush to the next target.

win or lose, game length are down to half. It’s fun. Winrate was above 66% on a series of 60 games, and my solo is 53-56. For totally yolo games, this is above acceptable.

Bottom line, this tank is what I have been asking for a long time, a tank where ammo choice is a big part of the strategy, and which should be considered for each shot you make. Each shot has its clear superiority depending on circumstances, and forces you to think and act in the instant.

The strategical and tactical importance of ammo choice  is something that has improved overall in the game with the prammo nerf, and the new equipment. It is also something that sucks in autoloaders, with this stupid partial reload *****,

Yes, the HEAT is finnicky. Note all shots in the test are fully aimed, from a stationary tank, and if you had to be moving around trying to land the shot no-scope, they you'd probably not perform as well.

The AP works, yeah. That's what I use the most, and then a few HEP to maximise damage. If you land all shots, you can take out a tier VIII Heavy tank in five shots with the HEP, versus seven with the AP and eight with the HEAT normally, but it's a total gamble.

I adjusted my loadout slightly, now run 23 AP, 7 HEAT, and 15 HEP. That seems optimal to me for my playstyle.

And yeah. The fact you need to take your ammo loadout and selection into account really adds to the enjoyment of the Black Dog; more so than on the Ru, and it's all down I think to the slightly higher alpha.

As for the return wheels, I think they are little six sided polygons that extend from the hull. I'll try and do some close up shooting at them with a low calibre, fast firing gun and see if I can find the "edges".

Have tried again tonight the combo with a T49 and really they are the perfect match for a toon. Same speed, same ammo changes, vastly different output, the LeKpz is more flexible, moving in first and around, the T49 can ambush and do the big damage, and the LeKpz comes back for a clean up...

does ad 10% to my winrate every session I try, and is a lot of fun.

So yeah. I just ticked over 22 million.

That means half of all my credits right now come from the Black Dog. Or that I've doubled by credit buffer over a little more than 300 games in it.

The thing is a licence to print credits.

I think it's safe to say this thread has gone past some kind of limit in terms how nerdy you can get over what is, after all, a pretty standard Light tank. :)

But I also think if you read through it, you will get a sense of what the leKpz M41 90 is all about. It's a tank for a certain kind of driver; someone who appreciates subtle differences in playstyle and armament, doesn't care about not having armour, and wants to powerslide a little while grinding credits. If you think all the penetration tests and stuff back and forth sounds super boring, then chances are this tank isn't for you. I am not saying you can't drive a Light tank at tier VIII unless you are a total gun stat nerd, I am just saying it's the little things that really make this tank special.

Learning how to drive a Light tank is one of the best things you can do for your gameplay, but you need to be clear about that being what you want to do. Well, either that or Yolo like a Mofo and not lose credits. I think both are valid reasons. It takes a bit of skill to drive it, but it will also teach you new skills. It's kind of hard not to sound Elitist trying to explain this, but here I guess is the bottom line: the problem isn't whether or not someone can drive a tank; it's whether paying 40 or 50 Euro to do it is going to be worthwhile for them.
