Minitelrose, I am going to do that, sell all tanks for gold next week, when 5.5 comes and reduce the price. I like that AMX.

I am so hyped to get this. Seen reviews and gameplay of the AMX 30 and Stubbo's rating of the tank adds to that. It definitely sounds like it has a playstyle I will enjoy so I hope to get this by the end of the week.

I went for it, the price for a Tier IX premium seems fine.

It's Monday, so that means new tanks on offer in store..today we just the one, the British Chieftain/T95 tier 8 heavy tank. Listed for 7,500 gold, no equipment but a garage slot. This tank is NOT discounted.

Here is how the bundles breaks down.

  No Discount   %age of bundle
9 Slots -   -
Garage Slot 250   3.33%
Tank 7250   96.67%
Camo -   -
Total 7500

Putting currency to it, here is what it will cost you in real terms.

Gold Source Gold Rate Cost (7.5K bundle)
iOS mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00277 (€0.00307) £20.78 (€23.27)
iOS bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00227 (€0.00267) £17.03 (€19.07)
Amazon mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00207 (€0.00230) £15.53 (€17.39)
Amazon bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00180 (€0.00211) £13.50 (€15.12)

Amazon mid bundle with

Amazon Coins (3250 @ 22%)

£0.00170 (€0.00189) £12.75 (€14.28)

Amazon bulk bundle with

Amazon Coins (37500 @ 22%)

£0.00140 (€0.00165) £10.50 (11.76)
Best saving possible   50.5% (49.5%)

We last had this on sale mid august, with all equipment slots and a 25% discount for 9500 gold. Given that to fully equip this yourself if you spent the gold on the credits it would cost 2,025,000 credits (5062 gold) then the previous offer was obviously a lot better value for money (on the tank at least).

The tier IX AMX 1er is in store at present with 30% discount and is still double the cost of this tank, so even without discount this still feels like reasonably good value for money, especially when new tier 8's also come in at near double this cost. This is actually close to tech tree pricing, I wonder if there is a clue there?

Don't get me wrong, it will get discount later, but the fact you can choose to equip it or not, and if you have the credits is won't cost you a penny more, then it's a decent buy, even more so if you can use Amazon coins.

Let's get some scores.....

Tank Effectiveness B- Good DPM, but poor pen due to the 90mm gun, lowest at tier IX, means low alpha and need to spend more time on target to do damage. Aim time is one of the best as is gun depression, but dispersion is only middle of the pack. It is very mobile though, one of the best at tier VIII for a heavy. Armour is atrocious though, everywhere apart from the turret front. So you want to ridge fight in this. It's a heavyum in other words. Oh yes, and the glaring weak spot...the cupola, so keep moving to avoid being sniped.
Fun Factor B+ It is fun, particularly on maps with lots of hills and bumps you can use that depression on, but suffers on city maps.
Offer value for money Offered for gold, great. No discount and no option for equipment, but it's a competitive price...pretty solid buy.

In store today, the Russian ISU-122S tier 7 tank destroyer. Listed for 5,500 gold, no equipment but a garage slot. This tank is NOT discounted.

Here is how the bundles breaks down.

  No Discount   %age of bundle
9 Slots -   -
Garage Slot 250   4.55%
Tank 5250   95.45%
Camo -   -
Total 5500

Putting currency to it, here is what it will cost you in real terms.

Gold Source Gold Rate Cost (5.5K bundle)
iOS mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00277 (€0.00307) £15.24 (€17.06)
iOS bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00227 (€0.00267) £12.49 (€13.98)
Amazon mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00207 (€0.00230) £11.39 (€12.75)
Amazon bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00180 (€0.00211) £9.90 (€11.09)

Amazon mid bundle with

Amazon Coins (3250 @ 22%)

£0.00170 (€0.00189) £9.35 (€10.47)

Amazon bulk bundle with

Amazon Coins (37500 @ 22%)

£0.00140 (€0.00165) £7.70 (8.62)
Best saving possible   50.5% (49.5%)

This tanks has insanely good DPM for tier 7, 3352 with the right rations....but if you didn't already know, you can fit pretty much the exact same 122mm D-25 gun (though the S variant) on the SU-152 and get exactly the same stats. The only difference is the 122S has better hull armour, which is useful as you'll need to spend more time on target to get that DPM out. Having said that, 400 alpha for AP is still one of the highest at tier 7. All in all a pretty good tank.

Last sold on 14th August for 8500 gold, but that had 9 slots unlocked. To do that for yourself will cost 1,530,000 credits (3825 gold) so the offer is not as good as the August one, but if you have the credits to spend or only want a few equipment slots unlocked, then you are going to be better off saving the 3000 gold from the last sale.

Let's get some scores.....

Tank Effectiveness A Excellent DPM and alpha, decent frontal armour but aim time is slow at 2 seconds. You are going to rip up tanks if you get in to brawls and can keep at arms length...all in all a very good tank. But remember, you can put the 122mm gun on the tech tree SU-152 and get the same stats, but slightly weaker armour, so it's not quite a must have unique tank.
Fun Factor A It's always good shredding other tanks, and high DPM and high alpha makes that all the more fun. Troll armour helps up the fun quotient here as well.
Offer value for money Offered for gold, great. No discount and no option for equipment, but it's a competitive price...pretty solid buy.

I’m away for a long weekend, so can’t do a full analysis in th K-91 and IS2, but until i’m Back on Monday, here is a quick summary.

The K91 is an excellent tank, turret is a little weak on the cheeks so can’t be played as a try frontline heavy, but the 3 shot drum can be devastating. For 14K gold, which is the same as the AMX 30 B sold recently, you’ll get another excellent tank for your money.

On the IS2, the Russian version, at tier 7 for 6K gold, it’s an effective tank, but it does feel a tad lacking. 6K is decent for a tier 6 so if you fancy another tier 7 heavy, and 14K is too rich for the tier 9, then this isn’t awful.

Neither tank comes with equipment costs, that keeps the price down, but remember to factor that into your spend.

Me, i’d Go for the K-91 if the two, much more fun to play.

While I play Blitz only on my Google Android devices, I keep Blitz installed on Windows and on Amazon Android devices, because each of them has sometimes special offers.

With Blitz from the Amazon App Store, there is an offer under "Bundles" for the tier 8 Panther 8,8 for 8,76 €.

They claim that is a 60 % rebate.

OK, bit of a catch-up after my weekend away.....

In store from last Friday, the Russian K-91 tier 9 heavy tank. Listed for 14,000 gold, no equipment but a garage slot and discounted 25%.

Here is how the bundles breaks down.

No Discount 14K Bundle %age of bundle
9 Slots - - -
Garage Slot 250 187.5 1.34%
Tank 18,416 13,812.5 98.66%
Camo -   -
Total 18,666 14,000

Putting currency to it, here is what it will cost you in real terms.

Gold Source Gold Rate Cost (14K bundle)
iOS mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00277 (€0.00307) £38.78 (€43.43)
iOS bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00227 (€0.00267) £31.78 (€35.59)
Amazon mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00207 (€0.00230) £28.98 (€32.46)
Amazon bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00180 (€0.00211) £25.50 (€28.22)

Amazon mid bundle with

Amazon Coins (3250 @ 22%)

£0.00170 (€0.00189) £23.80 (€26.66)

Amazon bulk bundle with

Amazon Coins (37500 @ 22%)

£0.00140 (€0.00165) £19.60 (21.95)
Best saving possible   50.5% (49.5%)

Last sold on 20th July for £49.99 (full price), but that had 9 slots unlocked.

To equip this yourself buying the credits for gold will cost 2,475,000 credits (6187 gold) That will add about 40% to the total spend for all 9 slots, but at least you can do that to your own requirements.

Let's get some scores.....

Tank Effectiveness A I really like this tank, it does have a bit of a troll Russian gun, but using the pop up, unload and hide tactics you get close to 900 damage in a clip on average. Great for finishing of weakened tanks. And that's where this tank finds is most effective roll. Armour is OK, not a great sidescraper and the turret does have some weak spots that can be exploited, so not really good as a frontline tank.
Fun Factor A I liked this tank a lot, as a heavy tank, at tier 9, getting in and brawling by unloading your drum is a lot of fun. Put a pair of these in a platoon and it's deadly.
Offer value for money B+  As a tier 9 tank, it's about the same price of a newly launched tier 8, so that's good. And sold for gold so you can exploit savings on the Amazon store as well. Solid offer, still pricey, but good for a tier 9.

Also store from last Friday, the Russian IS-2 tier 7 heavy tank. Listed for 6,000 gold, no equipment but a garage slot and discounted 20%.

Here is how the bundles breaks down.

No Discount 6K Bundle %age of bundle
9 Slots - - -
Garage Slot 250 200 3.33%
Tank 7250 5800 96.67%
Camo -   -
Total 18,666 14,000

Putting currency to it, here is what it will cost you in real terms.

Gold Source Gold Rate Cost (6K bundle)
iOS mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00277 (€0.00307) £16.62 (€18.61)
iOS bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00227 (€0.00267) £13.62 (€15.25)
Amazon mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00207 (€0.00230) £12.42 (€13.91)
Amazon bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00180 (€0.00211) £10.80 (€12.10)

Amazon mid bundle with

Amazon Coins (3250 @ 22%)

£0.00170 (€0.00189) £10.20 (€11.42)

Amazon bulk bundle with

Amazon Coins (37500 @ 22%)

£0.00140 (€0.00165) £8.40 (9.41)
Best saving possible   50.5% (49.5%)

Last sold on 31st August for 8000 gold, but that had 9 slots unlocked.

To equip this yourself buying the credits for gold will cost 1,080,000 credits (2700 gold). Notice that the price has dropped 25%, but if you buy the slots with gold yourself, it will cost 700 gold more than the last offer. So not a great deal really.

Let's get some scores.....

Tank Effectiveness B- It's an IS tank, it's derpy and troll, decent armour but slow and doesn't really feel that effective
Fun Factor C It's not a tank that will light anyone's fire. One for collectors only really..unless you really love Russian heavy tanks of course!
Offer value for money B+ The fact that this would cost more than the last time it was on offer if you had to buy the credits marks this down for me, as an offer it could have been better, but at least you now have the option to buy it cheaper and for gold without the slots equipped, so that is a positive.

Saw this on Discord:

Starting later this year, consumer applications (not including games or game subscriptions) sold in Microsoft Store will deliver to developers 95% of the revenue earned. This includes purchases of applications or any in-app products, when a customer uses a deep link to make purchases in Microsoft Store.

Should mean even cheaper prices than on Amazon, or?

Stubbo, do you have a list of all Blitz offers this year? For cash/gold.

Yes, I have everything sold this year in a great big spreadsheet.....I will be recapping the year in an article in a couple of weeks time.

Here's the actual wording (plus an FAQ extract) of the announcement from Microsoft.....

Microsoft

Starting later this year, consumer applications (not including games or game subscriptions) sold in Microsoft Store will deliver to developers 95% of the revenue earned.

This includes purchases of applications or any in-app products, when a customer uses a deep link to make purchases in Microsoft Store.

If Microsoft helps to acquire a customer through any other method, such as in a collection on Microsoft Store, developers will receive 85% of the revenue earned from the purchases.

*Applies to Windows 10 PCs, Windows Mixed Reality, Windows Phone and Surface Hub devices.
**Disclaimer: Final details subject to change

What applications will the new fee structure apply to?

Any consumer non-gaming app published to Microsoft Store on PC, Windows Mixed Reality, Windows Phone or Surface Hub.

The original page is here and a blog from Microsoft explaining in more detail here.

So unfortunately I don't think we'll see the benefit of this as by far they make the most revenue from games.

A re-release in store today is the Hybrid Nation T 55-A tier 9 medium tank. Listed for 17,000 gold, no equipment but a garage slot and discounted 25%. That's a lot of gold...!

Here is how the bundles breaks down.

No Discount 17K Bundle %age of bundle
9 Slots - - -
Garage Slot 250 187.5 1.1%
Tank 22,416 16812.5 98.9%
Camo -   -
Total 22,666 17,000

Putting currency to it, here is what it will cost you in real terms.

Gold Source Gold Rate Cost (17K bundle)
iOS mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00277 (€0.00307) £47.09 (€52.74)
iOS bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00227 (€0.00267) £38.59 (€43.22)
Amazon mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00207 (€0.00230) £35.19 (€39.41)
Amazon bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00180 (€0.00211) £30.60 (€34.27)

Amazon mid bundle with

Amazon Coins (3250 @ 22%)

£0.00170 (€0.00189) £28.90 (€32.37)

Amazon bulk bundle with

Amazon Coins (37500 @ 22%)

£0.00140 (€0.00165) £23.80 (26.66)
Best saving possible   50.5% (49.5%)

This was sold on the 7th September for the first time listed as £74.99 (£62.04 on Amazon) with all 9 equipment slots unlocked.

To equip this yourself buying the credits for gold will cost 2,475,000 credits (6187 gold). So on a like for like basis that would be 23,187 gold which would put a fully equipped tanks cost as around £64 (71). That doesn't feel like a 25% discount does it, more like  13% ! But remember, you are only getting a discounted tank, not discounted equipment slots, and of course you don't have to buy them all if you don't want or need them.

Without discount this bundle would have cost £62.78 (€70.32) meaning WG originally valued the slots as £12.21 (€13.67)….it will cost you a bit more than that to buy the gold to equip as I said above, around £17.14 (€19.19) before any amazon savings.

Let's get some scores.....

Tank Effectiveness B+ The T55A is almost identical to a T-54, slightly lower shell velocity and therefore lower penetration, but the DPM is exactly the same. The only other stat different to the T-54 is the HP, with the T66A having an extra 50. You all know how good the T-54 is, this is just marginally less effective
Fun Factor A- Every bit as much fun as a T-54. Mobile, strong and a firm favourite in game.
Offer value for money B- 17K is steep, especially when you consider we've seen both the K-91 and AMX 30 1er proto in store in the last month at tier IX for only 14K gold. You know you can get the costs down to something palatable, but I'd recommend holding out for cheaper offers later. And if you have a T-54 already, I'd really not bother at all.

Latest offer in store today is the Russian ISU-130 tier 8 tank destroyer. Listed for 12,500 gold, no equipment but a garage slot and discounted 15%. A big chunk of gold for a tier 8 tank...!

Here is how the bundles breaks down.

No Discount 12.5K Bundle %age of bundle
9 Slots - - -
Garage Slot 250 212.5 1.7%
Tank 14,455 12287.5 98.3%
Camo -   -
Total 14,705 12,500

Putting currency to it, here is what it will cost you in real terms.

Gold Source Gold Rate Cost (17K bundle)
iOS mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00277 (€0.00307) £34.63 (€38.78)
iOS bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00227 (€0.00267) £28.38 (€31.78)
Amazon mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00207 (€0.00230) £25.88 (€28.98)
Amazon bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00180 (€0.00211) £22.50 (€25.20)

Amazon mid bundle with

Amazon Coins (3250 @ 22%)

£0.00170 (€0.00189) £21.25 (€23.80)

Amazon bulk bundle with

Amazon Coins (37500 @ 22%)

£0.00140 (€0.00165) £17.50 (19.60)
Best saving possible   50.5% (49.5%)

Last in the store on the 31st August for 15K gold, or with the same 15% discount and 9 slots unlocked for 17,000. Also there was a 10% offer with 6 slots unlocked for 16K gold.

Here are the equipment costs if you buy them yourself

Slots Credits Gold % increase in bundle cost
3 600,000 1500 12%
6 1,275,000 3187.5 26%
9 2,025,000 5062.5 41%

To find the total cost if you buy the tank and then buy the credits with gold, multiply the cost above for the purchase option you use by 1+the percentage. For example, The highest price is £34.63, if you want 9 slots multiply that by 1.41 gives you a total cost of £48.82

As you can see though, the previous bundles for 9 slots actually discounted the slot cost as well. So 12.5K for the tank and then 5K for the slots comes to 17.5K gold. So it will cost you 500 gold more now to equip it yourself...not a great deal really.

Likewise, to equip 6 slots will now cost 15.687 gold and that is less than the 16K gold from last time (but that only had a 10% discount) so this is a bit of a saving.

Obviously the big saving is buying and equipping with credits and not gold, 12.5K gold now versus 15K before is a nice healthy saving.

Earlier in the week we had the K-91 for 14K gold, arguably that is a far better deal tier for tier.

Let's get some scores.....

Tank Effectiveness B+ Everything about the gun is middle of the pack except the alpha damage with 460 per shell which is higher than all but the ISU152 and borsig. TD's are always better with high alpha, especially the awkward or turretless/low armour ones. The pen is a little iffy, so be careful with your aiming...which is also quite slow.
Fun Factor B- The ISU is always a fun tank, but the 152 is much more fun because you can drop far more damage per shell so have to spend less time on target. I would recommend the tech tree tank over this, and that won't cost you any money either.
Offer value for money B 12.5K is better than previous offers, but if you are buying premium TD, the Jagdtiger 8,8 will only cost 7400 gold in the tech tree, and it will do as good a job as the ISU-130. Price will eventually fall to around 10K gold if you can hold on.

Must be said, why on earth would you pay a fortune for isu130 when the tech tree 152 does a far better job.......and is free!

New in the store today, the German Panzer 58 tier 8 medium tank. Listed for 17,000 gold, all 9 equipment slots unlocked and garage slot and discounted 15%. A big chunk of gold for a tier 8 tank...but no different to any other new tier 8 tank!

Here are how the bundles breaks down.

No Discount 17K Bundle %age of bundle
9 Slots 5062.5 4303 25.31%
Garage Slot 250 212.5 1.25%
Tank 14687.5 12484.5 73.44%
Camo -   -
Total 20,000 17,000

    15K Bundle %age of bundle
9 Slots   - -
Garage Slot   250 1.67%
Tank   14750 98.33%
Camo     -
Total   15,000

Putting currency to it, here is what it will cost you in real terms.

Gold Source Gold Rate Cost (17K bundle) Cost (15K bundle)
iOS mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00277 (€0.00307) £47.09 (€52.74) £41.55 (€46.54)
iOS bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00227 (€0.00267) £38.59 (€43.22) £34.05 (€38.14)
Amazon mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00207 (€0.00230) £35.19 (€39.41) £31.05 (€34.78)
Amazon bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00180 (€0.00211) £30.60 (€34.27) £27.00 (€30.24)

Amazon mid bundle with

Amazon Coins (3250 @ 22%)

£0.00170 (€0.00189) £28.90 (€32.37) £25.50 (€28.56)

Amazon bulk bundle with

Amazon Coins (37500 @ 22%)

£0.00140 (€0.00165) £23.80 (26.66) £21.00 (23.52)
Best saving possible   50.5% (49.5%)

If you go the 15K gold route and equip yourself, the cost in gold would be.

Slots Credits Gold % increase in bundle cost
3 600,000 1500 10%
6 1,275,000 3187.5 21%
9 2,025,000 5062.5 34%

Clearly if you want to equip the tank and you don't have the credits, the 17K bundle is by far the better offer.

Then of course, there is the Mutz Camo, for an eye watering 1590 gold. All other camos on the tank are around 620 gold....so ask if you really want to be a Mutz or are you Nutz?

Let's get some scores.....

Tank Effectiveness B- On paper the tank looks OK. It has reasonable DPM and the pen is pretty decent at 212, aim time is OK as is dispersion, so why the low mark. This is a poorly armoured medium, with the worst view range at tier 8 and the lowest HP. Can anyone say Shell Magnet! It doesn't have the pickup in speed to keep it out of trouble so you're left fighting from cover.
Fun Factor B- When I'm thinking fun in a tier 8 medium, I'm thinking T49, T54 1st proto, AMX CDC, even a super pershing….this isn't my idea of fun, hiding away waiting for the odd snipe with your underwhelming spotting distance.
Offer value for money C 17K it's what we expect for a new tank, add on the premium camo for another 1590 gold and you're at 18.5K gold. Honestly, if you are thinking of spending that sort of money on a tank, go back to the store and buy the tier 9 K-91 for 14K, a thousand times better deal in my opinion, and a way better tank as well.

When it pops in your garage click on the upgrades, it reveals the real price of them.

So, WG are selling the ISU130 to us for 12,500 but click on the upgrades and the real value is shown as 7,200! Given the bundle states a discount and only includes a tank and the slot, that means they’re charging you at least 5,300 for the slot.

The T55A has a similar issue. On sale for 17k, tank and slot bundle with implied discount but the upgrade shows the true value is 15k, so again 2k for the slot.

K91 is however different. It’s on sale for 14k plus slot but the upgrade button shows the true value as 15k. The applied discounts make no sense to me.

15% off the ISU 7,200 + 250 for the slot means that it should be sold at 6,380

25% off the K91 and the T55A 15,000 + 250 for the slot means that it should be sold at 11,437

I think that WarGaming had really messed this up, and don’t buy as it’s not the deal advertised, it’s a con.

While we wait for the fun and games of the Blitz Christmas Fair (crates ahoy) WG have landed 3 Chinese tanks in the store. All re-releases, nothing new.

First up is the 121B tier 10 medium tank. Listed for 20,000 gold, no equipment slots unlocked but with a garage slot and discounted 25%. Also a bonus of a gold noob Avatar...to let everyone know you're a wallet warrior!!!

Here is how the bundle breaks down.

No Discount 25% Discount %age of bundle
9 Slots - - -
Garage Slot 250 187.5 0.94%
Tank 26,416 19,812.5 99.06%
Camo -   -
Total 26,666 20,000

Putting currency to it, here is what it will cost you in real terms.

Gold Source Gold Rate Cost (20K bundle)
iOS mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00277 (€0.00307) £55.40 (€62.05)
iOS bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00227 (€0.00267) £45.40 (€50.85)
Amazon mid bundle coin price (3250) £0.00207 (€0.00230) £41.40 (€46.37)
Amazon bulk bundle coin price (37500) £0.00180 (€0.00211) £36.00 (€40.32)

Amazon mid bundle with

Amazon Coins (3250 @ 22%)

£0.00170 (€0.00189) £34.00 (€38.08)

Amazon bulk bundle with

Amazon Coins (37500 @ 22%)

£0.00140 (€0.00165) £28.00 (31.36)
Best saving possible   50.5% (49.5%)

If need to buy the equipment yourself, the cost in gold would be.

Slots Credits Gold % increase in bundle cost
3 900,000 2250 11%
6 1,950,000 4875 24%
9 3,150,000 7875 39%

Obviously if you have the free credits, then use those to equip the tank if you want to, gold is an expensive route, though you obviously have control over that part of the spend.

The 121B was put in store for sale in July for £89.99 (€100) and was at that time equipped with the 9 slots unlocked and had a 40% discount. That means that WG initially priced a fully equipped tank at £150(€170) which was massively over priced at the time, so the new bundle is a much more reasonable cost (though still very expensive).

There have not been many tier 10 tanks released to store, and this is the first tank to have its second release. The Chieftain was last in store at 24K gold so this is a move in the right direction.

I've got articles to follow on pricing in the next week, so keep an eye out for those.

In the meantime, let's get some scores.....

Tank Effectiveness A- At tier X it's middle of the pack in terms of DPM and alpha but has a good aim time and dispersion. Turret travers is a little lacking as is gun depression which is worst in class. Armour is very strong frontally in the turret, and better than all other meds apart from the E50M. You are basically going to be playing this just like a T-62A or OBJ-140, hull down and sniping.
Fun Factor A- Strong mediums at tier X tend to be a lot of fun, even if matchmaker doesn't give you the best of teams. Nothing against the tank thoug, a solid option.
Offer value for money B- 20K gold is not cheap in anyone's language, but the price is falling and you'll be unlikely to save much more than this in future. Disappointing you can't get it fully equipped and have the discount applied to that as well...but nothing to cry about.
