Guys, I have noticed on numerous occasions that there seems to be a serious imbalance in some of the damage effects that WG have implemented within the game.

The type of tank is not the issue, but I have noticed in lots of battles, that you can deal major damage to the opposition tanks gun, but this does not seem to seriously interrupt the rate of fire, or accuracy of the tanks gun.

Just one occasion recently I was in a KV2 and was shot twice by a jpIV from across the map at over 240m before I could reply. My reply hit him spot on the front and the "gun damage icon" appeared. He then continued to shoot me 3 times, from the same distance with what appears to be the same accuracy and virtually the same speed.

This is surely an error....if a gun is seriously damaged then (I know it's a game BUT) then the effectiveness of the tank should be seriously impeded.
If I had shot and damaged the engine, then the actual speed/manoeuvrability of the tank would have been affected for a significantly longer time!

Surely the damage effect to a gun would also cause a similar time period for the gun to be adversely affected as it does to the engine and tank manoeuvrability.

What do others think?

Maybe he used a repair kit?

There's a crew skill that reduces the negative effect of damaged modules.

Robustness.  Crew Skill.

Also, repair kit.

I understand that, but when he is still showing the yellow gun damage then how the hell can he fire both quickly and accurately over a long distance?

Both of these parameters should negate any crew skills, and also as it was still showing yellow, then he had not used a repair kit!

To me therefore there is a programming error?

Broken guns don't affect rate of fire, only accuracy. He just got lucky with the aim RNG.

Ammo rack & loader injury mess up ROF/DPM.

I’ve had some blinding kill shots with a damaged gun... it messes up dispersion, but a low dispersion gun is affected less - try it with a derpy autoloader or high dispersion autogun.

Ok guys, thanks for the response.

I have finally received a reply from WG.

The response is the same as Albin747 said!

Kirill Meonov

Hello Tank Commander,

We are very sorry for the long response time, it is caused by the working overload, We are trying to do our best to decrease the response time.

There are no errors or bugs in that situation:

  1. Damaging a gun doesn't slow it's rate of fire, only accuracy
  2. Damaged gun can be repaired with repair kit almost immediately

If you need anything else, please let us known. We will be more than happy to help.

Best regards,
Kirill Meonov

Red guns cannot shoot anymore.

yello guns can shoot, the accuracy is reduced,  which never prevented KV2 to kill people on the other side of the map.

Ammorack (and loader crew) is responsible for the reload speed

all of which can be improved in performance, time of repair, etc... by various means.

Read my guides there

"I want the game to be just how it was launched, no MM limitations for platoons, some unbalanced match once in a while, and friendly fire should come back as well. The only thing they should remove is statistics." -phony1907, 08 July 2016, 05:45pm -

I want just that, and replay files.

Sorry minitelrose, never seen a red gun yet!

I have hit a tank on the gun with my KV2 and that never wrecked the gun!

How?

Why not?
