Eh oop.

After a good 2 years of ipad death and my fumbling fat thumbs unable to adjust to ickle screens, i finally replaced the dead tablet with a pro, so have installed the game with an eye to easing my self back into the game.

Only to be beset by some weird maps, totally different old ones and a breathtakingly confusing plethora of UI and user experience changes.

So basically a quiet cry for help.

Can anyone give me map meta changes for the old maps and a very brief rundown of the new ones?

Also blitz fairs, multiple equipment/consumable slots, mysteriously deducted purple penanty things, dog tags, chips, gravy, tickets, chests...all kind of bewildering.

Any advice or pointers re wtfrick is going on hugely appreciated.

Well, ignore the gambelthon event, for a start

The UI is indeed different. Biggest change is to Equipment, with the introduction of Spare Parts, so all your old stuff will have disappeared and been replaced with this tat, which is tied into timers for reequipping tanks - but won't get you back to where you were.

The Maps subforum has died, but mini and Andrew have created a Map Inspector app/website alongside Armour Inspector, which is a great tool: https://wotinspector.com/en/

There seem to be more low-WR players at higher tiers, probably running away from sealclubbers

Flatpanzer was buffed to OP, but may be nerfed next patch

Tiger 1 and P are buffed massively

Meta is more campy in general

Up is wrong on Naval Frontier

Mines rework is not great

Himmelsdork is still awful

Dynasty's Pearl is a fun map, though everyone goes city generally, not sure why

Up is still right on Middelburg

Rockfield is interesting, tends to be low ground or high ground, still not sure of the best route, but changes with teams

Mayan Ruins meds tend to go down, heavies among the buildings, there's a useful knoll above the cap in the middle. And a tribute to EDURACE , too

Vineyards is a nice map

Meds at high tiers were effectively nerfed to boost heavy and TD gameplay

Low tiers have had a HP buff

I'm sure others will have better data.

awesome stuff.

So vents, GLD etc gone, and we get the same options for all tanks or are they class based?

I seem to have about half a million of these cog type thingies.

Will that get me far?

Welcome back, I’m still new round these parts but I’ve been trying to keep your groovy tunes thread alive :)

armorinspector is awesome too

wotbstars is dead, Blitzstars is main stats site

The equipment has changed, in my playing time, there’s a guide somewhere, i’ll see if I can find it.

The cogs are rare (nee spare) parts needed for equipping rows 2 & 3, they won’t go far and you will wait aeons for the timers to count down as you can only do one at a time per tank and they take days to countdown on higher tiers.

Hi @Mjr_eazy, pleasure to meet you o7

fully paid up on armorinspector, as its got console as well as blitz, but thought the map guide was only PC, so will definitely have a good look at that.

I guess i'll just have to take the hit on having subpar equipment for a few weeks/ months or however long it takes to get those cogs.

Given how sucky my play is at the mo, I'm sure it won't matter much!!

You'll spot TheDude generating abiding hatred and pity in equal measures, he's a notorious troll, no idea what he posted as have him blocked but not helpful from him, as usual from your reply...

On the equipment there was and still is much anger and many people have their thumbnail or footer campaigning against it as they didn't get anywhere near fair value when WG introduced the changes in 3.8...

I posted elsewhere I got 45 out of 86 small crates over a month with rare parts in them, averaging 642 a crate, you get a few from missions and games but most people seem to only equip high tier tanks or their favourites as still pretty rare...

Candy Crush business model.

As for trolling, fear is the mother of morals. It is by the loftiest and strongest instincts, when they break out passionately and carry the individual far above and beyond the average, and the low level of the gregarious conscience, that the self-reliance of the community is destroyed, its belief in itself, its backbone, as it were, breaks, consequently these very instincts will be most branded and defamed. The lofty independent spirituality, the will to stand alone, and even the cogent reason, are felt to be dangers, everything that elevates the individual above the herd, and is a source of fear to the neighbour, is henceforth called EVIL, the tolerant, unassuming, self-adapting, self-equalizing disposition, the MEDIOCRITY of desires, attains to moral distinction and honour.

we have a whole different set of problems on console, though i think many of them may overlap with blitz (terrible player base being the major gripe) but at least most of the worst freemium sins are absent.

But then you do have things that people *would* like; premiumifying TT tanks for instance or liberal sprinkling of earnable short term premium time etc etc
