I’m 14 battles in to this and it is going ok I guess (8:6 up)

However, I am struggling to work out what tank / tier to go with.

My Tier 10 only have 4 equipment slots open so I started with a T54 before switching to E75 with the odd Defender battle thrown in at Tier 8.

I am bottom tier every battle in the E75.

What tiers / tanks are other people using?

You will end up in gold what ever you do.

I’ve still not bothered.   Is the Spare Parts reward worth it?

I’m not sure on the spare parts thing - I’m just keen to know what tiers and tanks people are favouring for the 20 calibration battles.

By now I have played almost 300 ranking battles, so I have seen what players are using during calibration... My advice:

- play either tier 8 or 10. This gives you the best chance to be top tier. Unless you are very skilled and/or like the underdog role, most players prefer to be the top dog...

- switch off supremacy, so you don’t have to „worry” about losing on cap points. You can focus on destroying the enemy.

- use a „safe bet” tank. You see scores of tier8 IS tanks in calibration/rating games, players are using them because they are not everything/nothing tanks (like T49 for example).

- since calibration is calculated over 20 games, pick a tank with good stats and stick with it. If you have representative 60% wr and 1800 avg dmg with your IS6, you are likely to achieve a score somewhere close like that during calibration.

And most of all; play relaxed, like it is just another random game. Don’t get stressed when you lose 2 in a row, and start to panic that you will have a bad ranking. Once you have your ranking, you can start to work your way up the ladder :)

Regarding the extra spare parts; it is not worthwhile playing ranking games because of the extra spare parts. These are very small amounts of extra parts, I don’t even bother looking

ACEofSPADES1972 many thanks for the advice. I think you are right - Tier 10 or Tier 8 are the best bet and my Tier 10 are not equipped yet so it will have to be Tier 8 or a reliable Tier 9 underdog like the E75 (which has been bottom tier every rating battle thus far).

PS

Just checked - sadly you CANNOT turn off supremacy battles in rated battles

It confirms that in-game under the toggle-switch in ‘other’ settings.

The tiers are 7,8,9,10

So if tier10 isnt full then the tier9s get added. You need to be good against tier10s as you will see these lots.

Same goes if you drive tier 7, you will see lots of tier 8s.

This makes driving tier 8 and 10 the best tiers.

Play tanks that you do well in. These games are more competative so something with armour helps if you make mistakes.

Calibration is broken. Basically everyone started at 3000 then stayed unranked for 20 games.

Points are added or subtracted but not displayed.

Taking a wild guess you will be ranked 3100-3300.

So basically you get ranked between 2500-3500? Is it really any need for this phase?

"X 5 weekend, 10 games 9 losses ...
Some seals will be getting sooooo clubbed in the next couple of weeks."

False Hope and get 20 battles out of people.

Most probably but what would be the purpose cause those who like this mode will play it for thousands of battles and those who don't won't play it much at all. Either way 20 battles is negligible.
