Guys

I am again de-noobing tanks that I have in my garage, and have "discovered" this one hiding in a corner!

What an underperforming tank......

Too slow, minimal armour, pew pew gun (that causes minimal damage when it does pen) ........what do people do with this tank to actually contribute to the battle?

Whilst in battle, I find that I have to stay out of the main battle as 3 hits and I am gone......whilst repeated penning shots from me do nothing to stop the target .......

Even if I try and track the red tanks, the gun doesn't seem to pen in one, requiring 2 or more consecutive shots to remove the track on most tanks! And in the same time any tank can remove 75% (or more) of my total health!

Staying out of the battle also means my contribution is minimal, such that I also find that as I cannot contribute, I regularly find myself getting overwhelmed as the rest of the team have gone!

Has anyone ever Aced this tank, and does it solely depend on your own luck, red teams full of total noobs and afk, and the greens simply not present?

Yes. And all aces depend on others noobing around.

If top tier I find it good, I usually go with the meds and have everything equipped and loaded to increase pen and speed - all provisions, power boost and adrenaline consumables and equip:  calibrated shells, supercharge, refined gun, defense system, improved assembly,  improved optics, improved control, and drum roll...

high end consumables!  8 slots, I know noob but I just love this thing :)

Plus all my crew skills are level v or vi...

If bottom tier I still go with meds, hang back and try and track and stay alive to help mop up...

but hell what do I know I’m a noob and royally suck in it too - 361 battles, 45.43% WR :).  Best I’ve managed is a mastery 2.

Although many of those battles were when I was more spud-u-like,  I’ve got close to 54% WR in it this year which is pretty good for me...

Dunno if that helps but if you don’t get on with her my advice would be drop her for her much prettier and harder sister from Britain, Valerie Valentine - she loves a tear up that one!

He who stops being better stops being good.  Oliver Cromwell I was soundly beaten, and i am the better for it.  Monty

I keep getting beaten but getting better so its all good man :harp:. Major Eazy

60 front and side armor is clearly definition of minimal armor in tier 4.

Well talhaONE, if that's the best advice you can give.......they say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit!

Below is my last battle in this tank, and despite what talhaONE says, my Valentine didn't bounce a shot......

meanwhile my targeting of the reds caused minimal damage as I said......so much for supposed armour!

Sensible help p,ease next time, or simply don't bother!

I really liked the tank when I ground through it to the Sherman. Only played 18 battles but liked the armour . Maybe I was higher tier most time. I usually try play hull down or angle like when driving  Caernavon .

Maybe you should try to angle the tank? Also dont expect bouncing shots from tds.

This is a weird one.   I always disliked this ugly tank from a distance but when I got one I aced it twice within the first dozen battles, playing very aggresively if memory serves.   I have 26 battles at nearly 81% (and I am only a 53% player).   Equally oddly, I still didn’t like it, sold it and have no plans to play it again.

It’s been a while but my recollection is the armour is quite serviceable and it needs to be in the thick of the action.

3 battles 2 aces and a first, 1000 plus ave damage, 1000 xp was the base with premium so somewhere around 700? Should do it. Retired it as can only go downhill from there and wasn’t much fun.

Think I've Aced it a couple of time on US server but not on EU.

You need to protect the front glacis and not get surrounded if playing aggressively.

Looking at my EU stats I have 105 battles 56% WR 2.04 DR, US 294 battles 65% WR 2.18 DR, Hit rate for both is at 80%+ DPB 736-7, HPB 10 (so pretty consistent) damage as kill shots may only be for a few points of damage (avg 1.2 KPB)

I like it as it suits my preferred style, I run the speed boost consumable which helps when the team runs off in the other direction and as some have noted here you don't worry too much when at the sharp end or low tier. That said I try to keep on the move mostly (crew skills are only at IV/V). It helps if you read the red team composition and support where your team has the advantage.

When you can't walk, you crawl and when you can't crawl anymore somebody will carry you

I did not ace it with 2100 dmg and 5 kills .. but this week I finally did with only 1600 dmg and 6 kills but it was a tier 5 game. Personally I think this tank is OP for tier 4; in my reroll I have a 75 percent winrate solo in it; and 3 out of 4 games it is bottom tier.; which is basically DW2 (super OP tank) terriritory.

The turret armor together with it gun depressions makes is the ideal hull down monster for this tier. Basically only TDs can pen you; but you outDPM them easily. If you thik this tank in underwhelming then I wonder by what criteria you determined that.

Well it certainly seems that I am the odd one out in this tank!

I find it too slow to keep up with the action, and as I have said, every shot appears to pen, whilst I cause minimal damage to the reds, even though I have a slightly low for me hit rate of 78%

And going by the posted results from Player_3538429276, where he has simply loads of shots (28) in 3:40 minutes and I have 4 shots in 1:40 minutes!!!

No comparison!

The armour on the Valentine is good, but not as good as the AMX 40.  Don't expect to be invulnerable, especially against Tier 5's, DW2's, PzIVD's and Tier 4 TDs.  Lighter, lower tier tanks are highly likely to use prammo against you.

Hitpoints are very good, for a Tier 4 light tank.  Obviously not as good as a Tier 4 medium or heavy tank.

It's definitely me, yet another series of battle, another series of losses, another set of noobs to contend with......I simply cannot carry enough when the tank crawls across the map and I am  the only player left against 5 reds!

Interesting - I thought you were originally talking about the Premium Valentine II, not the 'Tech-Tree' Valentine.

With the 6-pounder on I think its a good tank - and to be honest I can't correlate your description of it with what I find?

1700 dmg is very good, dont blame yourself for team losses, shitty MM and bad RNG.

You’re doing well in the Valentine.  You’re having bad luck with the MM.

I’ve tried playing it in two ways.  Aggressively, like @reekoiler, and also as a sneaky sniper.  If you’re after an Ace, going aggressive against teams that lack high pen guns is probably your best bet.  The sniper approach does win games, but you find the end battles usually occur too far away for the slow Valentine to play a part.

One of life’s challenges — knowing enough to think you are right, but not enough to know that you are wrong.

Another few games of total crap teams!

Yet another display of total ignorance from the greens!

Sorry to keep on about this, but although I do not really care about stats per se, my wr is reducing exponentially with both this tank and every other tier recently!

These players are simply no help to someone like me who is not Unicom and cannot carry a noob team regularly enough!

Thanks guys, but I luckily had a red team of yolos this time!

And rather than yolo over the whole map they all made for the centre, as did I.

Ended up running out of AP and nearly out of prammo in the battle!

As others have said I decided on the centre, so that my lack of speed would not seriously disadvantage me.

In the middle of the map, with the reds all round and some of the the greens sniping from distance, the reds were totally distracted.

Additionally I managed to permatrack one KV1 whilst he was half behind a rock, and he couldn't respond!

The deathwagon kept peek a booing against  another green, but with his back to me every time he hid, I landed one into the engine!

Thanks to everyone who offered advice, it persuaded me not to simply delete the tanks and to persist with it!
