In update 5.0, spare parts boosters are being exchanged into spare parts for the shop. However, ITS A SCAM.

Quote from their website :

Spare Part boosters will be removed from the Storage, and you will get Spare Parts instead at the following rate:

  • boster-details_25px.png Standard Spare Part booster — currency_details_new.png80 Spare Parts
  • boster-details_25px.png Rare Spare Part booster — currency_details_new.png200 Spare Parts
  • boster-details_25px.png Special Spare Part booster — currency_details_new.png280 Spare Parts

You need 3 standard boosters for 1 rare booster. 1 standard booster = 80 parts. 80 x 3  = 240, so Rare should be worth 240 right? NO, ONLY 200

You need 2 rare boosters for 1 special booster. 1 rare booster = 200 parts. 200 x 2 = 400, so Special should be worth 400 right? NO, ONLY 280

So basically, they are making STANDARD boosters the most valuable and SPECIAL the least valuable.

Unless this changes, wargaming are effectively SCAMMING us. They promote us to combine for a more effective booster (worth it), but then remove them and make it more efficient to have smaller boosters and have not combined them. CLEAR SCAM.

Wargaming, please address this.

I guess you weren’t here when 3.8 was released. You’d know what it feels like to be really scammed by wargaming. 96 million credits worth of equipment taken, get 3 million SP back and a month per tank to actually get the equipment on there. This is nothing.

Dunno if you saw my earlier post, I’d been capturing results which showed it wasnt worth combining them and in the news article they say they worked out the values based on average rewards so whilst not admitting it, they have confirmed it too, combining rp poosters was a scam!

I combined and have 260 special. 260 * 280 = 72000

260 * 2 * 3 = 1560 standard. 1560 * 80 = 124800

124800 - 72000 = 52,800 spare parts I miss out on.

Oh boy is combining a scam...

I feel worse for people who combined more.

But even worse, people who BOUGHT boosters for them to be DEVALUED

So, the best idea is to use up all Special Spare Parts boosters before 5.0 gets released, right?

You're a bit of a dramaqueen, aren't u?

It's simply a trade-off. the normal boosters give u less spare parts per game, but more in total, while the special/premium (idk how they are called) give u more SP per game. So if you can only play let's say 20 games a day, it's better to have the special boosters, for example. It was already clear from the beginning that the normal boosters were better, if you play a lot of games.

Would depend how good you are. If you can earn 280 spare parts with 1 booster yes. If not, you'll get more out of it by waiting.

Combining boosters was never cost-effective to begin with. The spare part earns from 3 standard boosters is greater than a rare one. 2 rare boosters earn you more than 1 special one too. Combining was only useful if you had standard boosters just laying around that you were never gonna have time to use anyway.

That is exactly like me. Never had time to use the standard so I combined them, now I get punished for it?

Ah, the dark days. Good thing this thread is talking about the light at the end of the tunnel. I should probably change my profile picture now. Its a relic of the time when a lot of people on the forums were actually mad over the equipment changes, but now things are going back to what they should be this profile picture would probably look a bit silly.

No, definitely not. They will be worth more in credits than the extra SP you will earn from them.

Combining had an awful conversion co-efficient. And as you can’t buy SP boosters anyway then it’s all free...nobody really loses out on these.

So, you only just realised that combining boosters for spare parts is a bad deal?

Welcome to the party.... better late than never.

Plus, it’s hardly a scam as there’s no deception.

The standard ones no, but dont combine the standard ones to get tha rare ones (which on avg give you 12.5 more sp) but then again you could get a bad roll and loose SPs id day to keep them for the auto exchange

Ah who cares,i always combined boosters even when i knew not combining them gave you a better trade off.Not combining them meant playing more battles for nothing which would get very boring, never cared about it as much as most people do.

Eeeeh, well - that's debatable. They drop out of crates which you can buy with gold you got by spending real money. Yeah, it's only one 'reward' achieved via gambling, but in the end, you can get them. Although I can't really imagine how desperate/dumb you would have to be to gamble for poosters, of all the things...

in the beging it was clear if u play a lot (realy lot). The best is to use standart boosters. The outcome is for standart 30-140, rare 75-350 and special 100-500.
So if u take average than:
Standart  85
Rare     212
Special  300
Honestly i dont understand what the mechanics and how they account thus boosters BUT it looks like it better to use them now per max... and dont combine. As i understant the best use are high tiers asin average u will get out more spare parts and then what ever by using them then buy waiting till they convert by them self.
Some youtuber recomendet not to use booster ... but the awrage what u can get out looks biger than what WG will give

This time WG is at least using lubricant. Compared to 3.8, the update 5.0 feels good.

Actually if you read the description of each type of boosters you will see that each booster type gives you a min-max amount of spare parts. I don't remember the exact numbers of rare and special ones but for the standard 80 is the middle between min and max and im fairly certain that rare and special works the same way so there is no scam at all. They just give you the average between min possible and max possible. Quite fair if you ask me.

I do know that the way i express myself to some, if not most, people sound a bit too...aggressive? salty? rude?... but this is the way i speak and the way my thought train rolls...so...yeah...i'm not trying to insult anyone or pick up any fights.
