Why oh why oh why oh why does the first battle always seem to go like this morning’s?

Bottom tier (of course) in my Crusader on Middleburg.   They have no heavies, we have 3, plus a SU100Y all at the bottom.   There is an AC IV Sentinel, an MT25 and me up top.   I don’t fancy C (it’s supremacy) and head down, noting that:

  • the MT heads off alone to C
  • the Sentinel does not move
  • the rest drag themselves listlessly into town but without bothering to cap B (which is ‘ours’. )

So I cap it and execute my variant of the ‘always go up’ plan on this map, which entails going up the long way via the town when it’s too dangerous at the start.   Meanwhile, the MT, faced with all the reds,  bleats for help and dies.   The AC is killed in situ.   So I go up, kill a T34-85 and notice once I have done so that I am alone against the other 6 reds.   A couple more hits before I am a pile of smoking rust.   Under 3 minutes.

Always.   Or it feels like always.

Knickerson, my apologies.

Turn off noobpremacy in tier 5, it confuses the noobs.

You are in a Crusader at Middleburg and don’t want to go c. I am confused. Why no? And that that su-100y with you to kill those meds.

The SU was down at the bottom.   It would have been me and the MT25 versus 7 reds and the Crusader lacks the speed to run away if things get sticky.   You weren’t in the Sentinel, were you?
Knickerson, my apologies.

Your team had more heavies, they maybe saw this & expected your team to go into town to avoid facing the heavies (& hoping for an enemy team of noobs) which most of you did, leaving the light tank to face the onslaught...

Middleburg is a map where you usually all go up,even the heavies so you’re not outflanked when the enemy takes the top/hill...

It’s still hit & miss though even if you do all go up,sometimes the light/mediums will rush & get destroyed leaving your team with less players/tanks to face the enemy...

There are two caps in town.   If we all go down, take both and stay down, without getting sniped from above we should be OK.   Anyway, my decision to go down was forced since I knew the reds would all be at C.   The MT25 found out the hard way.
Knickerson, my apologies.

I don’t even have a Sentinel.

But i do have a Su-100y and it is pretty fast and a good climber. Combined with the big gun it can kill tier V mediums in one shot. I would have gone up in that beast.

Sounds like a usual tier V game to me :D I usually don't even bother anymore to think too much about tactics, I just watch what my team does and use them to spot the reds for me. Works better for me then taking the initiative and getting shot to pieces because you don't get any support.

Well, whatever you might have done, my SU ambled off into town with everybody else down below (not bothering to cap B).

This is what I did, more or less, but to no avail.
