I have two cromwells. The Tech Tree One and the Berlin One. Both have 9 slots of equipment. I bought the Cromwell B because it is better than the Cromwell (much ashamed) and because I wanted to help pay for the game. I ended up selling the Cromwell for a quick infusion of cash.

Now the question is, do I have to re-buy the Cromwell so I can get the free cammo for having at least 56 equipment slots unlocked? Or will the cammo be there if I buy it back later?

Good question. This case was not covered by the news. I think you will get the cammo only for the tanks in your garage because this is how usually WG is doing things. Maybe Max will be able to answer (as he is the only WG Staff member I seen around recently).

Thank you for removing timers and spare parts, now please do the same with Military Honor !

its atleast 6 Slots if I am correct but not sure about the other issue as I also have lots of tanks in the same Position.

Because so to say they arent otherwise reimbursing Players who have had other tanks fully equipped using parts but have been sold and this parts are still active on those tanks, correct?

Good question

I just saw this thread and asked WG about it to check, I can confirm the camo will be available for ALL tanks you have six slots on, whether it is in your garage or not

Excellent news.  I’m actually spending spare parts still to get some British tanks up to 6 slots so I can get this camo.

i hope you can talk to that with WG and other guys (Richard the challenger <3 ) at the tankfest !

Hmmm. A cockney, a jock or a nob. The problem is the massive range of English accents, never mind Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish. Use the wrong one and people will get upset.

Edit: which means whichever you use, people will get upset...

So what you are saying is WG should sell specific commanders with regional accents for players to use? Get Ice Cube and Kid Rock to voice alternate American commanders?

It would be a fun mod, yes. But the point is that there are acceptable standard French, American and German accents, can't comment on the others, but they're pretty centralised states so I'm guessing the same applies. In English, the "standard" accent is called Received Pronunciation, or RP, and is what you hear the officers speaking in old British war movies. These days, it sounds ludicrous.

I'd think Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Northern, Cornwall, RP, Exxex Englishes are all as "acceptably standard" as Valley, Southern, Appalachian, Mid-Western, North-Eastern, Boston, Brooklyn, Canada are "acceptably standard".. Futhermore I can safely assert that Bavarian and Saxon are quite identifiably and recognizably standard (as not being Duden approved)

I want my Berty Woosteresque "tally ho, chaps" enunciating commander more than I want one that sounds like ant or dec or Jeremy Clarkson. .

Canadian accent would make any American laugh so hard they couldn’t play, and Brooklyn would make the game rate aged 21+

Listened to some old recordings of English bomber crews over Germany from WWII the other day and found them to be very much the "RP" accent. Of course they knew that they were being recorded, I guess it might have been edited and it was bomber crews but it did sound strange.

If you view period films some of which have aged badly but the accents whilst being reduced to allow for comprehension by the audience. Do sound odd compared to today's. Then there is the problem of the changing meaning of words. For example gay used to mean happy and carefree. Today that meaning is rarely used and it is used instead to refer to  homosexuality.

If you had people speaking in a harsh Glaswegian accent most people would have trouble understanding it so having a heavy accent on the radio or internal tank communications would be bad unless both the sending and receiving stations were from the same place.

Then as a whole different topic there are the "Indian talkers" used by the U.S.A. To confuse Japanese radio interception. The film  windtalkers covers this.

Sorry  to have strayed from the topic I'll stop digressing.

The recording may well have been from the cockpit, and it's likely the officers were speaking RP. Whether the rest of the crew did is open to question.

A classic word that has become taboo over the past 50 years is the name of Guy Gibson's dog...

The recordings are of the whole crew in particular the rear gunner has a successful defence against a night fighter. But the quality of the sound does make me wonder if the recordings are accurate and not just staged for propoganda.

The name of Wing Commander Gibson's dog is an example of different locations and local predudice as in the U.K. During WWII the term whilst mildly condescending and derogatory was not the hate filled invective that it was in the south of the U.S.A. But times and attitudes change.

In certain locations in the U.K. "coloured" regiments could not have leave at the same time as the resulting fights and problems that caused with officers and men of the same regiments. With the English being told off for serving and allowing the "coloured" men the same service as the whites. Which lead to the English girls refusing to dance with the white troops but only accepting dances from the "coloured" as the predudice was not common or widespread in the U.K. Until after the WWII.

As the song says "People are strange when your are a stranger".

Another question: If the 6th slot is in the process of being unlocked when the update happens, do I get the cammo?
