I've been playing WOTBLITZ for a number of years now, and one problem that has persisted throughout my time playing is Trolls.

So what is a troll?

Out of the multitude of definitions, my definition of a troll is someone who is intentionally adversely affecting your gameplay (e.g.blocking your shots).

Now I don't think I have ever been accused of trolling myself, but I suspect you will meet at least one every 10 battles.

So what can you do?

And here's the tricky part. Wargaming imo do not have a very good system to deal with toxic players (although introducing replays was a step forward).

It's up to you. I suggest that it's more a question of what not to do.

The simplest approach is to ignore them. If they block you for a battle, then it will only be for that battle: it's just a game after all.

But to those who do want to retaliate, I have one piece of advice: don't. There is no surer way to make a troll happy by letting them know that they got under your skin.

You can of course try to report them, but as I've hinted at before, this will probably end up with nothing happening.

Good luck on the battlefield,

Nathan666

Well put, mate. I'd add that, if you see one of your teammates being blocked by a troll at the start of the game, go and help him get moving. Block the troll. This will confuse its tiny brain. Don't say anything in chat.

Hy!  That’s the oldest account with the lowest number of posts I’ve seen in my time here, so I’m curious what made you decide to post?

I know you’re right and responding tit-for-tat is not the way to go but I just don’t have the self control, when it happens to me I go all out to troll them back.  I know it’s not big or clever but I just can’t let them get away with it and think they can bully players.

Best way to get rid of a troll is to pretend to be AFK until he gets bored and goes away.

I've only ever seen a handful of trolls. Partly I'd advise to simply drive more carefully and to chill out if someone crashes into you.

Often it appears that players leap on the idea that anything is deliberate, and then take great delight in ramming each other etc, when actually they cannot drive out simply do not allow other tanks enough room to manoeuvre.

If you collide, be British, apologise, and let the other tank go first.

Road rage is a terrible thing.

Road rage is a very British thing and a great song to boot ;)

I like to think I can tell the difference between incompetence and trolling before the red mist descends :)

In all my games I don't think I've seen more than one instance of trolling that could not be explained by an escalation of getting revenge, and that was a moron in aT82 pushing a French TD about the whole map all battle. Even then maybe it looked at his pint, maybe it was justified.

The Renault UE 57 is so small it invites bullying.  Maybe its camo rating should work against it's own team as well?  ;)

If someone deliberately starts trolling me pushing and blocking I return the favour quickly. It’s better to have one idiot out as fast as possible than for him to kill you then start on the next victim.

Ignoring makes them feel that they fails. Also they should finnaly add bans for report, it's just useless for me

The problem there is that you haven’t stated a trigger figure. You only have to have a few Salty platoons to knock your complaints up. Getting ammo racked doesn’t mean your inactive, I’ve had it a few times when I have set off in a light to spot and boom 2 seconds later the light comes on to tell you you are spotted! Bit late really! Inactivity is a minefield there. Abuse and Trolling should have more impact though. Yesterday I had a guy on our team who was blocking, ramming and been abusive, he had 180 complaints for unsporting conduct and clearly wants banning but he is still with us.

A big failure of war gaming is the way they ignore trolls and abusive players. They need to get their act together. Unfortunately they may need to be made too because it seems they must can't be bothered to deal with it. In doing this they have made it acceptable behaviour.

They should also take bigger care of reports send to support, they tend to treat those like normal ones

you complain to them and they reply with we don’t have records of this can you send screenshots?

Then complain your gold or coins are gone and they are back at you with proof it was you faster than Lewis Hamilton.

Yet I seem to remember that you can get text of battles up in Blitzstars and I mean everything that’s said.
