I just got Comet. I have 8 games on it and still sub-100% crew. But it does not feel that good tank. The gun has combination of long aim time and small alpha. Yes, the turret is decent, but all but reliable. Mobility is nothing to write home about. Has Comet been power-creeped or should I just give more time for it?

Its been power-creeped from best-in-class to just good. Prammo-Nerf hurt it pretty badly.

It used to be the best Tier VII medium.  Then the stupidly OP Dracula turned up and ruined everything!

The Comet is still equal #1 in DPM, and is the undisputed king of gun depression, with -12 degrees.  Mobility is still very good compared with everything except the Dracula and some Tier VII lights.

In my opinion, every non-premium Tier VII medium tank in the tech tree with a 75, 76 or 77 mm gun should get a 0.2 second buff in aim time, except for the Chi-Ri.  This would make their aim time 2.01 which is what the Chi-Ri has now.

Smaller guns of 75-77 mm should be aiming faster than the 85 mm, 88 mm and 90 mm guns.

Yes.

WG should fix this by introducing a new separate Halloween map, (like the previous nighttime Rockfield one a few years ago), and confine the Dracula and Helsing to that map only forevermore.

This suggested by many players but wg didnt made since its counts as a nerf.

After Cromwell, it feels sluggish. Because it looks a lot like Cromwell, it takes a while to get your head around the difference in performance.  Still a fun tank, for me.

This is soft nerf or RNG when you aiming circle takes ages to shrink around target and when you see your shots magically disappear into nothingness.

It's kinda slow but reload and penetration are good, got Ace 4 times so far. Personally i preffer M41 Bulldog then Comet (both my favs so far),but Comet better then T-44-100 in performance (based on tanks i have ... so far).

Still good tank, IMO.

BP will be nerfed soon but its really not that great as everyone is saying. Lowtier I would take a Comet over a BP anytime.

They should make a just fantasy tanks MM.

Put out more of the disgusting tanks and let them fight each other to their hearts content. Leaving us a bit more of the WWII feel of the game

You will need to be more patient with Comet. At first, it is really mediocre because mainly the DPM is not that impressive at start without 100% crew, top gun, equipment and provisions, plagued by poor penetration for that tier as well. That is why I keep complaining about this tank at start. However, this will gradually get better as you play and you will need to know you have to play hull down always with this tank while flanking and holding a frontline are not really what Comet is all about. I believe Comet is not powercreeped and I believe if you found the "best" spot for you to farm damage, Dracula, Helsing, Black Prince, Tigers and co. should not be in your area of urgent concern.

A dedicated hater of KV-2 since day one. (Unpopular opinion :P )

I really liked the Comet and found it to be a really strong tank. My one nightmare was the T26E4 on reds, a hull down contest with those was an exercise in frustration, and they are mobile enough to stop you easily out manoeuvring them and if you are flanking you rarely have the support to take them on.

Comet is still a good and fun tank to play even against all overpowered tier 8 tanks. Have you fully upgrade yours? It is really fast, has good acceleration and its gun really penetrate any medium that is facing with. The turret can bounce even rhm's shoots.

It was hard to get mastery with it and I think it is still not easy because recently I did 3000+ damage, some kills, capped a base and got only 2nd class...

Good luck!

Thank you for removing timers and spare parts, now please do the same with Military Honor !

Drove it for some 15 games today to up my memory. Its an absolute beast when Hightier but struggles a lot when Lowtier. Even tanks like the T34 (hull) or AMX 50 100 can be a difficult pen and many Tier 8 Meds are only reliably pennable with Prammo. It also - like many Meds - suffers from the idiotic MM with the +/-1 tank classes, as it is much harder to be an effective flanker when you face the same number of Meds every game. Prammonerf and the new MM have made this tank a lot less dominant than it used to be. But once you are only up against Tier 6/7 its still absolutely phenomenal, as this gives you the possibility to bully red Mediums Head On and no Tier 7 med stands a chance against a well driven Comet in Medium terrain.

I love the Comet  soo much back in the day i had a 75 wr on it but i doubt i would get near that now due to power creep / noob explosion.  Still fab tank though, the great dpm is the strength and its useable turret / mantlet I mostly jink about over little humps / bumps using the amazing gun depression to pop off lots of shots and be hard to hit in return.  Try to avoid straight on brawling though if you can.

WG should buff its speed a bit i reckon to better compete with its faster brethren.
