I've reached a point in this game that I have been avoiding like the plague. It's called the T95!.... it's the last tier 9 across all tech trees that I don't own...and I fear it with gusto.

I know it has awesome firepower when it's used correctly but I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen them left alone and isolated, then swamped by anything with a pulse. I didn't mind T28, but this thing is a different kettle of fish.

Would appreciate some input from anyone who owns/owned it.

It’s great.

Just stick with the team and shoot stuff.

Towns and bridges are your friends.  The more hard cover you have on your flanks, the better your chances of survival.  Never go out in the open field.  Try to drive on routes that can only be flanked from one side, not both sides.

But the best tip is to platoon with a slow heavy tank which can guard your flanks and rear, while you chew up whatever’s in front of you.

Dont assume you can just sit in the open during the reload. If you give them time even most Tier 8 Tanks will easily pen you frontally. Always try to have cover when trading shots, unless of course you are pushing on a position. If so dont drive straight but slightly zig zag so you have your tank angled. And always use bushes, even if you are spotted. The reds will have a much harder time hitting your weakspots.

Your job is to attract shots, like the Maus. The more they shoot and bounce on you, the less shots your mates will receive. The 155mm is an added bonus to scare the reds into hurrying their shots.

The nerf it received a while back really did it no favours, taking away some of that front armour was a shocking move.

Exactly. I think before the Nerf you could really just block positions unless you were facing a Jägeruuu or something similar but now its just so easy to pen you frontally for a decent player. I entirely grinded it after the Nerf and I cant say that I enjoyed it but one has to give it that I parked it with a very decent WR of over 72%, despite having the lowest dmg values of all my Tier 9 TDs. It seems to still be pretty good at winning games.

Lets say it is not a tank you can carry in. You can be a bit dramatic in the beginning like "if you don't help me I can't help you", "noobs die first" etc. The greens might get the message. Try to have hard cover no more than 1m away from you. It can pull some surprising games. Yes there are better tanks at tier 9 but none of them opens the way to T110E3. Honestly, the T95 is a lot better than the T28.

Last time I met a T95, it was quite easy to pen it's lower plate with my M103. I just checked it and it's quite strong, around 250-300 mm effective, depending on the angle.

Has fantastic camo. Armor has been nerfed badly. But I would still drive this rather than any of the T28.

Read my guides there

Bought back the T28 proto for denoobing. Not so bad. It has excellent depression, a turret and, sometimes, working armor. Not such a bad tank afterall.

Whistle while you drive. It'll help pass the time and set the right tone as you start putting holes in red tanks while their shots bounce off you, and yes, go from cover to cover, and boost your traverse capability where possible.

T28 proto not such a bad old stick, quite versatile.....apart from the slow slow pace it's otherwise very useful.

My best memory with t28 Porto is every time I see one in red and I know they are gone in flames with a few HE from any side except front. And in front they still have no armor except in the lower plate.

its a tank with special abilities

I agree with Denii - its like a Maus and boy does it bounce shots off that front armour. Yes its a slow lumbering hunk, yes its not the best load time, but in the right position its a real pain in the backside and hated by the enemy because unless you get up the backside its so difficult to pen

Ours is not to reason why, ours is just to kill, kill kill

I really think the Proto is underestimated. Once fully equipped I enjoyed driving it and in the meantime it has even had its mobility buffed. People tend to forget that it is a TD and play it like a Heavy but the Proto is not so much about its armour as it is about the gun. Brilliant second line support tank that can also stand its ground on its own in certain situations.

I hated the T28 but actually started enjoying it more than the T95 when I revisited it after the mobility buff.

Yep, it's all about that gun on the 28 and proto28. It pumps out some mean dmg....and at a decent rate.

One reason it is usually the last to be killed off is that frontally it is a beast. So everybody kills off the supporting tanks first and only goes after the t95 last.  So as a T95 driver you need to platoon up or get somebody to stay near you. If they all go lemming train off into the distance your in deep brown waste but if you have that support ouch you are tough to kill and can do a lot of damage. The other thing is that you can camp and prey not to get spotted or flanked by lights/mediums cos then you dead. But it might be your only option if the rest of the team goes chasing the other end of the map no way can you keep up.

Too many times I've seen t95s left to fend for themselves by clueless teams. They are instantly taking a big piece of the team away at the start. If ever ones on my team I try to stay close to it's flanks coz I know it can be a game changer.

I'm expecting many lonely actions :(
