So I thought the color code on the tech tree was pretty straightforward.

Light green = I own this tank

Dark green = I have researched/am researching this tank

Grey = nope

In fact, some tanks which I haven't researched are in dark green and some of their modules are already researched (eg the engine) whereas other tanks are grey and their modules are locked. But the opposite is also true. Has anybody twigged the rule? Care to share your knowledge with me?

When you research a tank, its gets dark green, but you can see how much credits it cost in stead of how much XP you need to research it.

When you buy the tank with credits, it gets bright green.

When you got all the modules, the laurels are visible.

That's simple. You can sometimes mount same modules on different tanks. For example. You research and buy a X tank, then research all modules on it. On the tank Y there is same module ( let's pretend it's an engine), but you didn't even researched the Y tank. Although one of the engines from the Y tank is already researched, because you researched it on X tank. The researched module is also researched on all tanks, on which you can mount the module.

EZ

No, dark green means it can be researched. Grey means there is an unresearched module between your current progress and the tank. Dark green means there is not, for some lines depending on what modules you have researched on other lines, there are no modules between tanks so a tank from a higher tier can become dark green even if you have not researched the tank before it.

Never made sense to me, and it won’t ever I’m afraid.

Read my guides there

"I want the game to be just how it was launched, no MM limitations for platoons, some unbalanced match once in a while, and friendly fire should come back as well. The only thing they should remove is statistics." -phony1907, 08 July 2016, 05:45pm -

I want just that, and replay files.

Lol! It goes like this: say you had the Testudo researched, and the tank after that is the Crocodile. The Testudo box is dark green, the Crocodile box is grey.

Also, say the progression is stock Testudo --> top turret --> top gun --> stock Crocodile, plus there are the engine and suspension to research on "side" lines.

You buy the Testudo (light green box), start driving and researching modules.

After you've unlocked the Testudo top gun, the Crocodile box will become dark green. Whether you have the top suspension it does not matter as it is not required for progressing along the tech tree. So the Crocodile box might go dark green even before you've fulled the Testudo.

I suppose the counter intuitive thing about it is that an unresearched module blocks the dark green progress, but an unresearched tank does not.

Which seems to be the wrong order of importance.

You know, there are actually smartphone apps for that [I wish I'd known that before I had to count how many tubes were plugged out of a 10,000-tube bundle (answer: 2,415)].

In case you don't have a savant, autistic, long-lost brother handy.
