This is a ridiculous idea

It is fundamentally changing the game in every way, i can't think of another change as big as this apart from the t+-2

 

the whole game has relied on line of site before this since day one

I hate the idea

this is a different game entirely

At least it is tier 10, not tier 8 as per the last time this was tried!

Maybe it won’t be that significant.

It’s only 2 vehicles at tiers 9 and 10,  The mechanics of the missiles have been reworked and they fire a high pen HEAT round - which can still be defeated by tracks and spaced armour.

And the T49 isn’t what it used to be.

How about starting to panic at least after 6.7 release? After playing these tanks or playing against them a couple of times?

What i am concerned about is the other types of ammo having ridiculous damage per shot, 680 is just pathetic for the HE aswell as 560 for the APCR shells.

It's not right that the Conway being a tank with a 140mm gun has 600 alpha damage (AP) and not mentioning HESH/HE alpha, while the kfpz and these lights have 560 with a way bigger calibre.  90 mm of HE pen? well that can't be an excuse to give it less alpha.

I do understand that 640 would be too much for 2 lights and a tier 9 HT (which isn't that good either)  but hey, why don't we make it 600? 560 is right for the T49 since it's a tier 8 but 600 would definitely make the kfpz and the lights way more enjoyable (even at the cost of giving an even longer reload to the lights.)

 

But will see, if the players don't like the line and go for something else they will definitely buff something.

I see the ATGMs as a straight up downgrade from regular shells. You can still miss with a missile - it will just take you longer to find out... Also - consider the exposure time - you still need to keep LOS to guide the missile, which means you will be putting yourself "out there" for far longer, than you would while snapping off a shot.

How about posting from your real account?

 

As one of the persons lucky enough to test this tank I can tell you it’s not all that awful.  The rockets are difficult to control, and while you can hit someone who is in cover it’s not easy and it’s not fire and forget.  Getting the rocket to hit anything that isn’t already line of sight is pretty difficult, and frankly I (and many of the other testers) relied on the APCR much more (~90% of the time) than the HEAT rounds (rockets).  They were fun to mess around with but are at best a novel distraction.

 

I have 55 games in that tank and other testers have played hundreds of games in it during testing, and you have exactly zero games in it.

 

How about you take a Ribble’s advice and wait to see how it actually works rather  than panic and insist it’s going to be game destroying before you even drive it.  Take it from a person that actually drove the thing, OP you are dead wrong.

Already met them in battle (while on test) and found them no worse to take on than any other tank.

Yes, but unless there is a complete change in the playing of these missile tanks over the totally broken T49 a couple of years ago........

Historic WG usual implementation suggests that design/testing is not going to be as good as it could/should be........

I remember the last time missiles were in the game. It was no big deal, except when playing against pc players, since they apparently had an advantage with aiming. 

 

But yeah, let's wait til 6.7—or really, till a couple months after 6.7, to see if there's any real fuss over the new tanks.

Even the you tubers are saying they are no big deal and your better off shooting normal ammo so I guess is novelty factor

I think I was only at the receiving end of these missiles once so far (at least i only remember one instance). I was thouroughly surprised by the missile penetrating the front of my IS-4. I had my angle right and I was moving, but I think the missile was directed so that it hit the front of my tank from above. Very impressive. I hope this is not too easy to do, since otherwise it is very very powerful.

 

It has been stated that the range of these missiles is limit. Does anybody know what the limit is?

Knowing WG they have probably imported data from WOT, so in that case I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s at least 1000m.

The video itself is saying that it fundamentally changes the game!

 

In the video: 1:05 "You will be able to strike your enemy at the most unexpected places"

 

This mechanic FUNDAMNETALLY changes how cover can be used in the game, where a rock used to cover your tank, it no longer does because a guided missile can be used in a way to circumvent this cover. So yes, there is indeed reason to be worried. It DOES fundamentally change the game, no need to downplay this detail. :)

Mind you it will be another batch of noobs in tanks so could turn the other way and we get another duck shoot !!!
