it’s more abiut how many people play a specific tier , and that may also vary during the day, and with updates.
so there are specific time where playing for exemple tier 9, will nearly automatically place you bottom tier.

That’s a trend that has reoccurred. But also reinforced over time

 

there are other consideration like playing a light tank, WG will try to match you against a red light tank in symetry (how much do I hate this rule, one of the worst of the entire game). Those kind of rules places further stress on the mm, which then might be more likely to match you with a certain other related tier.

 

i know in a t7 amx-13-57 I’m rarely top tier. And yet if I play a tier6 I see a lot of tier7 so it’s not lacking in t7 tanks, but there are other rules to satisfy. A long time ago it was more “next 14 guys to show up are bundled into a game”. That was a lot more random and gave weird games sometimes (all TDs in one side, for exemple). I liked it. Forced you to play creatively instead of the same game every game. Anyways ...

I agree, MM should have less rules and be more random altho the amount of MM crying then would be off the charts ;)

7 lttbs vs 7 Smashers would be hysterical!

I wouldn’t mind being the lttb honnestly. But being an lttb vs lttb nearly every game drives me crazy and someday might be that thing which will drive me out of the game.

I'm sorry but I don't believe in the numbers at all because of what I just saw. I saw a player with 55% WR try and find a Leo while he/she was driving around in an SAU. All they had to do was sit with the Churchill III at the base and we would have won, no his slow arse decides to slowly crawl all the way around the map until the clock ran out. I'm sorry but you don't make it to 55% with that kind of playing. A SAU trying to find a Leo!!!!!???? I mean how stupid can you get????

Could you post the account or even a replay? Let’s remember how the Newbie-queue and its not-so-smart bots have ballooned the new players’ WR. Getting 55% nowadays at low tiers is all but impressive for a new account.

I got the database based replay analysis almost  working (bit buggy still). I think the 50%+ WR is due to 1) calculation error (R syntax is particular) or 2) faulty data in WG database. I will filter the stats for 100%+ WR and re-check the calculations. I started thinking the bots could not be full explanation since those have been introduced very recently and only to part of the player base. I ran the DB based replay analysis and average WR was 48.x% as it has been previously. :harp:

Here are the replay analysis of 1057 Tier VIII replays posted to wotinspector.com since Jan 1, 2020 excluding all the Master Badge games and excluding all the games on the Chinese server (account_id >= 3e9, stats not available).The average WR IS below 50%.

 

Interestingly, the allied WR is significantly lower than enemies WR when top-tier. This is honestly weird. Please note that the player of the replay has been excluded from the (allies) stats.
