I'm having a bit of trouble with this tank.

I play it like a heaviums, I hulldown, sidescrape in extreme situations etc but it's still hard to play.

I have the occasional good games and I've got 2 it 3 1st classes in it but a lot of games are just bad.

I've got the second gun which isn't too bad, I run provisions(case of cola, can of cola, engine boost) I've got 75 crew and my ammo loadout is 15HE, 4APCR(to irritate though tanks) and rest all AP.

Any tips? Related to playstyle, consumables, ammo and provisions. Also the gun. Is the top gun better or the 76mm?

First of all; don't try to sidescrape - the weakest part of the tank is the giant sides. Try to hulldown because the best armor is on the turret, plus it has 10 degrees of gun depression . M6 has good viewrange with improved optics (around 270m) so you can spot decently. Use top gun (M3 cannon) because it has decent pen but you'll need some gold rounds (4 is definitely not enough). Take around 10. Play it like a casual heavy. Never go alone, play with team and try to use the best of your situation.You've got pretty decent mobility for a heavy therefore, if needed - fall back to your team and support them..

Just to add a clarification: gold ammo is just premium ammo that you can also buy with silver.

Don't use gold for ammo

I'm not that new. I have 2k battles on another account and about 1k on wot pc.

Anyway, I don't have the credits for 10APCR rounds. Mainly use apcr to trouble opponents and to make them angry so that they make a wrong move. Not very effective but sometimes works.

Heh, HE can sometimes also annoy them enough to switch targets. Or permatrack them, that gets plenty of players in a frenzy.

But some turrets are immune to HE >

yeah, but, it's about being a nuisance. Impacts at the moment they want to shoot, can make their shot go way off. There is a constant *bang* on your turret, there are plenty of low-patience players who really dislike it when people do that.  It's a tactic, like tracking, it's not always about the damage you do, but how much damage you prevent them from doing, while your team breaks their tank

So I keep track of their reload and fire just before they fire?

Get credits or drop provisions and load 1/3 APCR. Better aim and speed doesn't help if you won't pen.
