In what order do I upgrade it?

I don't plan on using the 122mm gun.

I've got the second 85mm unlocked from another tank.

Everything else is stock.

Should I upgrade the tracks and engine first or should I get the 100mm gun first?

Improved fuel, 100, 122, engine, improved fuel off, tracks.

It is not really up to you to decide on whether to use 122 or not. Heavy tanks were oversized mediums with less mobility and more hit points back when I grinded the Soviet tank destroyers so you might want to use 100mm for enhanced precision now that heavy tanks are reshaped in the vision of a delusional company. Unfortunately this will make it harder to adapt on the long run for until you get the BL-10 on ISU-152 you will have to use howitzer version of 152mm on both SU and ISU which demands an entirely different play style compared to SU-100 with 100mm.

Rush 122, prepare a couple million credits to burn on 122mm APCR and 152mm HEAT. It is a fun line.

I'm going for the obj 263 line btw. Not the obj 268.

I prefer accuracy over damage.

And I just need improved fuel till I get the engine?
Also, is the 122mm really necessary? I doesn't even carry over and why use 18k exp if it's not even an improvement over the 100mm

Aaaah, Puru sees. Dont bother with 122mm on SU-100 then and focus on 100mm. Improved fuel is a makeshift solution to bring engine power somewhat closer to its upgraded state until you research it. We are not acquainted enough yet but I sincerely wish you good luck with SU-100M1 and SU-101... both have horrible gun depression and the rear mounted gun and low profile makes it difficult to position. It gets better with SU-101 though in terms of firepower and frontal armor. Go into training rooms alone or others to find spots for these tanks... they are the only ones which I think are mandatory to do some spot hunting with. Maybe Sturer Emil as well.

Honestly it's just a matter of preference. You want to shave a large chunk of HP and have some fun take the 122mm or if you want to try hard and feel comfortable using the 100mm then use the 100mm. Although you will catch people out with the 100mm because players will assume you will be using the 122mm like everybody else.

The 122mm and the 100mm are different. The 122 has a distinct muzzle break and the 100mm doesn't. But looking at the average intelligence of players, I guess no one will notice the muzzle break...

Do I need both the fuel consumables or just one? I generally run both of them but if it isn't necessary, I would very much like to save the credits.

The stock dpm is horrible.
I ended up switching from two improved fuel consumables to the red fuel consumable and double food to maximise the dpm.
I want the 100mm gun!!!
I'm hardly earning 500exp per battle (that's with premium and exp boosters)whereas in most other tank I easily earn about 1k exp per battle(with premium and boosters off) even if they are stock.
The stock su 100 is just garbage.

That's the correct way to play like nearly every tank in the game..

Wait until you get ammoracked in this thing like 1 out of 5 battles.

I'd prefer 122mm gun simply because having 400 alfa damage in tier 6 is way above the norm, but 100mm can do the trick aswell. SU-100M1 and SU-101 are quite difficult tanks to play and master unlike Obj. 268 which is child's play compared to Obj. 263 line but do as you wish.

I'm thinking of getting the 122mm. The tank just isn't good enough with the 100mm.

And yes. This tank gets ammoracked so often!!

The trick is to hit the back part of the side armour. It gets ammoracked almost always.
